Racing was great, the crowd in the GA were awful, underage drinking and arguing between two groups of people. Youngsters causing problems the whole time. Security should have kicked them out and didn't so they managed to ruin the whole experience. Ended up in the stands to get away from the fighting. Not great and expensive drinks.
We hired the Cuvee room for our work event and the night went off! All attendees had a great time and the entire event was great value for money. The FOH staff were really friendly and helpful on the night, and the buffet food (Pacific Menu) was delicious and got rave reviews from our attendee's. Free parking for the event was a plus, and the event manager was great to work with!
The racing HQ of nz, love the place and go as often as I can. Only niggle is the food there can be very pricey, $7 for a pot of hot chips, from what I have seen its the highest price I have seen for hot chips at an auckland venue so eat up before you go. Always have a spare tote window on race day, even on semi busy meetings.
Beautiful racetrack not far from the CBD. Grounds & buildings are exceptionally maintained & the grandstand is huge. On a recent trip to NZ we were keen to visit the resting place of our old mate Sunline . A truly surreal experience. And Hail the Legend Bonecrusher. Compared to a few racetracks Iβve seen in NZ Ellerslie Racecourse is the best looking track apart from Riccarton .
Attended the Oceania International Master Chef challenge event.
Iβve been here twice for different event and both times was let down, came here for my school ball and the food was average at best, security was way too over the top, I got kicked out of the ball for having a vape in my pocket without even being seen using it or anything and playing behind some curtains. Girls where being searched in private areas and were watched while going toilet, really cramped. And keep in mind that we all paid $130 just not worth it to me
Beautiful posh place. My daughter attended Auckland Grammar Girls school prom 2023 at Ellerslie Racecourse. They had a stunning fun evening.
Nice venue. Awesome food options for the buffet but the service at the bar throughout the night was a tad slow. Short on staff numbers I'm guessing. Please do better because I know the cousin paid a lot for your services.
I absoulety love coming here for the races. We attended the New Zealand Bloodstock , Karaka Million event and what a brilliant event. We had such a great time. The crowd and the atmosphere was a vibe. The location was amazing with massive crowds with different sections. We were located in the Cavallo Club and we got free champagne and food, which was an an amazing experience. The highlight for me was the fireworks at the end of the show, truly spectacular fireworks. Ellerslie racecourse sure knows how to put on a party. The staff who served us the drinks and food were very polite and friendly. The location had lots of parking which was great. The toilets were very clean and spacious. I highly recommend attending the races at Ellerslie racecourse such a cool place.
