I was admitted to Columba at Ascot yesterday (16th May 2024) for knee surgery to repair a tear in the meniscus. Right from when I first walked in the door, the staff were super friendly and accommodating, my pre-op nurse Helen was absolutely awesome, Dr. Kerry Gunn is a top anaesthetist, Mr. Richard Street is one of Auckland's top orthopaedic surgeons and the team in the recovery suite just made everything stress free and pleasant. Such a great place to have private surgery... You'll certainly be extremely well looked after! My heartfelt thanks and sincere gratitude goes out to the Recovery Team. You guys rock ❤️ Wayne B
My surgery and procedure went ahead smoothly and the staff were professional and attentive. The team administered a RAT test prior to the surgery back in June however did not advise there would be a $20 charge for this. I reject the premise of this charge, not because I cannot afford to pay for it but find it unreasonable they would look to pursue a charge which was not informed to the patient, especially for a RAT test that was funded and supplied by the government. Directors at Columba, pick your battles. This is not one of them that is sensible to pursue.

Wow..from the reception to the nurses, anaesthetic technician and two doctors it was a great experience. I am so grateful to have been looked after by the amazing staff at Columba as I was feeling anxious about my procedure beforehand. Thank you for making my experience so breezy. I would highly recommend Columba for others!
