I have used Mariner Insurance for all of my boats, very good communication, excellent service. The only major claim I have lodged was for keel hitting rock incident in my 33ft yacht many years ago. I had recently purchased a 9 metre long power boat and needed it transported from Tauranga to Lyttleton. I had the transport sorted via a roll on roll of vessel, but the transport company didn't cover insurance during transit. I phoned Mariner Marine Insurance and spoke to the insurance broker (Aaron great bloke) he was able to cover the boat during transit and for the full 12 month period. I was able to get a good deal from Mariner Marine Insurance due to the vessel being stored in a secure facility, and having the Coastguard skippers courses under my belt. That was all sorted and done and dusted with 1 phone call and a few emails regarding details of the boat and other particulars. Great customer service, very friendly and helpful with excellent knowledge of the boating and marine industry.
Great guys, very knowledgeable about all things boating. Overlaying their boating knowledge with insurance gave me confidence that I had the right insurance policy for my boat at the right price. They offered me insurance options with higher excesses and lower premiums allowing me to choose something suitable to my circumstances.
I insured my yacht with Mariner for 8 years. In that time I made one pretty big claim (Broken mast) which was settled without fuss. Insuring the boat for extra offshore racing was also handled professionally and reasonably. I could not ask for any more in a marine insurance company. Thanks guys!
Our Boat has been burgled with just about everything within it taken. It was not only disappointing that this would happen in a Marina environment, but it’s also upsetting that so many possessions with so many great memories have been stolen. The damage is repairable and items can be replaced that we all know, but the process of insurance claims is to most of us not the norm and full of the unknowns. We have at the beginning of our claim had some issues regarding our cover, and we thought we were probable going to find ourselves in a very uncomfortable situation. Today Aaron has rang and said all the issues around our cover have been resolved and we are proceeding with the claim as normal. We believe that without Aaron’s personnel attention, this matter would not have been resolved in our favor and we are not only just grateful for his professional service, but also recommend without reservation his services to all.
