   I had a terrible experience at this shop. They overcharge for everything and seem to make up random issues just to get more money out of you. I took my car in for a simple service, and they suddenly “found” multiple problems that didn’t even make sense. When I asked for an explanation, they gave vague answers and tried to rush me into expensive repairs. I got a second opinion elsewhere, and surprise—most of the “problems” they mentioned weren’t real. Avoid this place unless you want to be scammed!

   An absolute crook. Came here for a wof and was told it would be $1100 for brake pads, wiper fluid and blades for a small Toyota hatchback. Seemed dodgy as the guy kept defending his pricing before I even questioned it saying it’s “safe pricing in case something goes wrong” multiple times. Went for a second opinion based on his behaviour and had everything fixed by the second mechanic for $240 as well as a full explanation of why I should not spend $1100 on this type of work. When I went for the recheck the guy at godley road autos was clearly sour and refused to pass it so I drove straight down the road to another wof agent (car untouched) and paid $59 for another wolf check in and out and passed no troubles. $75 down the drain at godley road autos for a refused warrant but have a safe and road worthy car and will report to VTNZ

   Friendly and honest service. Came in saying I needed a new tire and turned out to be a leaky valve. Really great price too. Many places would have just replaced the tire for the extra money.

   I have been a regular customer for many years now. I've always been very pleased with the service. Good communication, flexible about about when we pick up and drop off the vehicle. Even when State Roadside Rescue claimed our battery needed replacing, Godley Road Auto had the integrity to double-check the battery, found it was still OK, and we got another year or two out of it. Craig and his team work really hard to look after their customers and they deserve success.

   Literally the worst mechanics around and very dishonest , returned our car worse than we sent it to them in, after billing us for work we did not what done without our knowledge,and it no longer even drives! I don’t think you could be a worse mechanic

   I took my car in at the start of this year as my battery kept going flat on my car. I live very close to this mechanic and asked if they could help since the car was across the road. They had my car for a few weeks and kept saying they were working on it everyday. I had a friend that saw them everyday and said nothing was really being done and every now and again it would be moved. I was also quoted about $150 and i had to call them every few days to ask what was going on. When they said they had "fixed it" and disabled some of my alarm on the car, they then said it would cost $400. I managed to get the price down to $300, which i was still not happy with at all, and I was very shocked when originally it was less than half that price and they never mentioned that they were doing much work to it when i called every few days. When my partner went to pick it up he said nothing had been done but my alarm being disconnected and they tried to say they spent hours working on it and they apparently installed stuff into the car that we were not made aware of. The mechanic also called me a liar and said that he called me and was making me aware of what he was doing when i had proof i had called him every few days and i recorded our conversations, as i didn't trust what he was doing was completely what he was saying. I went away on holiday for a week a little while after i got my car back and came back to my battery being flat again. So turns out they did not fix my car at all and all they had done was cut one wire which did not "fixed" the issue at all, it now just means that i can't use the auto lock on my car. So i spent $300 for them doing nothing to my car. I heard the previous owners of this place were good but the man that now owns it is a liar and will rip you off. I highly recommend not going here at all and there is a mechanic at the petrol station just down the road that could be much better or go to New Lynn.

   The worst experience I ever had with a mechanic - after "fixing" the problem, 2 days the same problem recur. Took the car back, and after 5 days without a word, went to see what's happening as we need the car back. Took them nearly 2 weeks to "fix"it again (hopefully not for only 2 days), and to my shock I have been charged one more time for the job they've been paid in the first place and. Why do I have to pay again for their mistake? Is their responsibility to fix the same problem without me paying again and again. So, if you like to be ripped off, pay twice or more for the same job, to not be informed at all with what's going on with your car. If you are looking to go to a carelles super expensive Mechanic the this is the one for you - Godley Road Auto Services

   Bought one of their old courtesy cars, was told there were no problems whatsoever apart from small patch of rust on boot. Immediately had issues which they agreed to look at but then upon dropping car off, were very rude and didn't have time for us, so we took it to a friend who works at Bishops and discovered the car needs substantial work done. Would have just appreciated some respect and honesty on Godleys behalf, especially as they are mechanics trying to run a successful business which we have spent quite a lot of money at.
