   I bought the cedar double mailbox. It's pretty good, but not premium. They delivered it promptly and it was well wrapped. It's cut well, and the doors work nicely. There was one nail sticking out inside, which I'm going to have to knock back out; fortunately I have a brad nailer to fix it. Nail holes were filled on the top, but not on the sides, so I guess I'm going to have to do that with some wood filler before we finish it. For the best part of $400, you would expect it to be finished properly. I would have probably paid a bit extra if there was a better way of fixing it to a post, e.g. a metal plate that you screw into the top of a 125mm square post, then screw the metal plate into the bottom of the mailbox. As it stands, I have a spare vitex board I can use.

   I bought the vandal proof letterbox. I can’t get anyone to install it on the fence. Handymen come and look and either say can’t do it or they ghost me. I asked letterbox warehouse if they could recommend anyone who could help but they did not reply so I now have a letterbox sitting in the garage. I was also disappointed in the condition the letterbox arrived in. The plastic label was loose and about to fall off so I removed it. I then discovered it was all scratched up under the label. I can’t recommend this letterbox or the lack of service.

   I just had two Kingswood letterboxes delivered. These are of excellent quality and price. The painting and staining is great, the steel is thicker than typical sheet metal and is of a strong feel. These are significantly better than anything for sale at Mitre10 or Bunnings and around half the price.

   I ordered two Cedar letterboxes for a subdivision and they arrived within three days, well packed. Good product, clear Cedar T&G construction with SS fixings. Oil them twice yearly and they will last forever. The price matches the quality. Very good company to deal with.
