   WOF? Don't go here. The new owner's staff are diabolical and dare I say it dishonest. Their over the top standards for passing a WOF are ridiculous. They try to say its a Fail for 'safety reasons' and they are guided by regulations, it is not, it is likely to get you to spend more money with them getting their ridiculous 'Fails' repaired by them. Preying on the ignorant. As a retired mechanic I have an excellent understanding of what is required to pass a WOF. They failed my car on a number issues. I confronted the inspector and asked him to explain, when I challenged him he walked away mumbling. I took my car to another business who read the comments on my 'Fail' from Orewa Automotive and Electrical. He could not believe what they had done and said none of the Fails were an issue. My car was pass it WOF by another mechanic. Orewa Automotive and Electrical are not the same business as it was, when Tomo owned it.

   Booked a WOF appointment through the online system on the website as a first timer with new owners, but was a repeat customer of many years with Tommo the previous owner. Received an online reminder on the morning of the appointment. Turned up only to be told abruptly that the online system is not in use, and that there’s no way my WOF would be completed as they were snowed under, can only do 8 vehicles per day, and that they need to change the booking system and I’d need to rebook. I’d taken time off work to get this done. I’m all good with all of the above (these things happen) but what changed my long term loyalty to this business is that no point was there an apology for the error on their part. Simple really.

Even despite the unexpected high repair bill, we are totally delighted with the outcome. The car now runs better than it ever has during the 12 years that we have owned it.    Very professional and friendly. Gave me a price upfront and advised they would call if they found anything else that would need replacing and advise costs if I wanted to go ahead...which they did. They even managed to get me squeezed in on the same morning I called. That's service!!!
