   Bought some lamb chops - amazed by the quality and by the price. Based on this, might frequent this store more rather then supermarkets - rather pay $9.00 then $23 and the marinade is VERY good. Thank you!

   Trying to include more protein. I've found biltong is better than beef jerky. The rugby mix is also worth a try. Staff are good people.

   When I heard this shop was under new management, I headed there for the first time in years. Wasn't disappointed. Great service, wors was fantastic (plenty flavours to choose from). Biltong was also excellent (I like mine quite dry). Will definitely be heading back soon.

   I have not tried many types of wors but I have never had any better than what Basie makes. A South African once told me he makes the best wors outside South Africa, and I can believe it. Start with the boerewors ('original flavour') - and go in on a Friday if you want it fresh instead of frozen. I also recommend the currywors, chilliwors, and garlic vors.

   I took mum to try some biltong as she’s never had it before. We at first thought it’s the same shop that used to be in Petone, I really missed the flavours there. But I’ve not felt this uncomfortable with customer service for so long!! Not sure if it’s racism or if the guy was just having a really bad day. I just asked what the flavours were like for four kinds of biltong they had, he said “Do you know what garlic taste like? Describe it for me?” The level of passive aggressiveness is real! The meat was good but we can’t enjoy it cuz this attitude. Will not be going back again. We’ve always enjoyed SA cuisine. I hope the guy was just having a bad day… I’m not giving lower stars cuz everyone is having a hard time in this economy. But please treat people nicer.
