Rawson Brothers will now be our go-to for all things jewellery - we came in to get my engagement ring resized as it was too large. Service was fast, efficient and personable - David did a brilliant job at resizing and you cannot tell it has ever been resized. We are so chuffed and thankful for his expertise. David has been our jewler for years. We excitedly followed him when he established Rawson Brothers. The work produced has always been exceptional.
I took a two-piece necklace in today to enquire about solutions to have the bottom piece permanently fixed so it didn't come loose when wearing. Without a word, the man stepped away with my necklace and used pliers to squeeze the t-bar opening closed, visibly slipping while squeezing it shut. After we left, I was very disappointed to see scratches and teeth marks from the pliers on both sides and the back of the setting. The man should have advised what the options were / what he was intending to do before he made the adjustment, and he should have taken measures to ensure not to damage the piece in the process. It was $5 for the service. An extremely sentimental necklace, sadly, I wish I hadn't taken it into this shop.
David remade some family rings into my engagement ring and wedding band as well as my husbands wedding band. He listened to our ideas and gave expert recommendations so we really trusted him throughout the process to create the vision we had in mind. They all turned out exquisitely and will be timeless pieces that remain in our family for a long time to come. It is lovely to have a small local business here in the Hutt and really valued the personal touch we have had throughout the whole process.

The clasp on my Citizen EcoDrive watch strap broke. Jewellery chain store that the watch was originally purchased from gave a ridiculous quote to replace it. David was recommended to me by a friend. Clasp was replaced in a good timeframe and less than the very reasonable quote I was given. Wonderful service! So helpful, cleaned my rings like new and helped me sort out my late Mum's jewelry at short notice even though he was busy. Also has some lovely pieces for sale. Highly recommended.
have had jewelry redesigned, rings made for gifts, purchased items for gifts , jewelry cleaned , asked for advice. Have had excellent service from David, he is always very pleasant, knowledgeable, and nothing is too much trouble. This is now my go to place for all my jewelry needs or questions/ advice if I need.
We had a great experience having our rings made by David, he made the whole process very easy and enjoyable and we've ended up with rings we love and admire daily. I had my heart set on having a morganite stone in my engagement ring and he helped us choose a design that was exactly what I was after. He then made a wedding band that fitted around it perfectly. My husband was a touch more indecisive in what he wanted but David was incredibly helpful and showed us examples of different ring options we could base it off.
