I came here to get a WOF for my wifeโs car and it failed for three things: rear brake pad, left and right steering rack mount play, and a buckle on the right front wheel rim. I took the car to my mechanic to double check. Two out of the three faults did not need replacing. The steering rack mount was fine and there was no buckle in the rim. The only correct fault was the rear left brake pad. Even then, they failed to notice that the two front brake pads were in worse condition than the one they marked in the rear. While my mechanic was inspecting the car, he also found a large crack in the radiator that VTNZ completely missed. If that had gone unnoticed much longer it could have caused major engine damage. Missing the worn front brake pads could have also damaged the rotors and cost even more to fix. After replacing the brake pads and the radiator, and without fixing the other two faults VTNZ listed, I took the car to another shop and it passed with no issues. It seems like the staff here are not experienced enough or are not checking things properly. They missed serious problems, noted faults that were not real, and overlooked brake pads that were in worse condition than the one they failed. I will not be coming back. I highly recommend going elsewhere.

I had a fantastic experience at VTNZ Westgate for my practical driving test! My examiner, Mary Ann, was absolutely amazing calm and professional, and incredibly supportive throughout the test. She made me feel comfortable and gave clear instructions, reducing my anxiety (with terrible weather and traffic around during the test) though I am an experienced driver from a foreign country. She was very pleasant wearing a nice smile all the time, and wish her a good luck in all the endeavors.

I found all of the staff on the desk to be lovely. Zubair was great, and used hand signals left and right to help. He was calm, kind and helpful and didnโt embarrass me or make me anxious which often happens in a test situation with dyslexia. I really appreciated his approach. Thankyou

I honestly donโt even know where to start โ if there was an option for zero stars, I would have chosen that without a second thought. The driving instructors at this center are completely unprofessional, rude, and utterly careless. They seriously need to be replaced. My partner has taken the test 3โ4 times now, and every single time they come up with the exact same excuse to fail him. It feels like they are doing this on purpose. When we couldnโt find dates in our area, we tried this center โ and it turned out to be the worst decision ever. The staff here clearly lack respect, communication skills, and any sense of professionalism. Instead of guiding or supporting learners, they act arrogant, dismissive, and self-centered. Itโs honestly shocking that this kind of behavior is being tolerated. Whatโs worse is that so many people have complained about the same thing, yet the management and owner seem to ignore it completely. Itโs pretty clear they only care about taking peopleโs money โ $60 for every test, with no accountability or improvement. This isnโt a driving test center anymore; itโs a money-making setup that desperately needs investigation and reform. Avoid this place at all costs.

I had the pleasure of taking my driving test with Lauren, and I couldnโt have asked for a better experience. From the start, Laurenโs calm and professional demeanor helped ease my nerves. She gave clear, concise instructions throughout the test, which made everything feel manageable and straightforward. She created a relaxed environment that allowed me to focus and perform at my best. Itโs clear that Lauren understands how to support learners through what can be a very stressful moment and Iโm incredibly grateful for that. Thank you, Lauren, for making my test experience smooth and fair.

Had a lovely time doing my full license here. My testing officer Eleanor was so nice, made me feel confident and relaxed throughout my test. More testing officers need to be like her!

0/10 do not take your kids here for their driving tests. My son was failed twice for no good reason. We went to another VTNZ and he was told he is a great driver. This took place all within a space of three weeks. (ie nothing much changed in his driving habits) - It was very clear to me they had a bias against young boys, and where there to fail them as much as possible and also to make money. They should be investigated.

The owner has said how the people they have working with them have very high expectations and are just following the rules. Yet I have been in the car over this last year as a witness with different people getting they drive licenses and seen something being let go and then not with the next. Yes we need good safe drives on NZ roads .With that being said you have people working for you that are not always following the SAME RULES with everyone.

Not a good experience with my wife's practical driving test for full license. My wife got two tries and did not pass. We transferred to VTNZ North Shore and just one try she passed and the same driving style and form. I cannot understand why?? Just for the record, I witnessed and observed as I was quiet in the back seat during the test for both VTNZ Westgate and VTNZ North Shore. But it is what it is.
