    Dishonest owner — tried to scam me, and when it didn’t work, he threatened to beat me I took my Mini Cooper to Motor Clinic Autos because the owner said he wanted to buy it for his son. We had already agreed on a price of $4,600. He asked me to bring the car over so their mechanic could check it. Before I went, I told him clearly that the car had just been serviced. The oil was fresh, clean, and everything was in good condition. But the moment I arrived, his mechanic started saying the car had “no engine oil” and “no coolant.” They never even opened the expansion tank to look inside. Anyone who knows Minis knows the tank is thick and old, so you can’t judge it just by looking at the outside. As for the oil, clean oil is hard to see unless you actually take the time to check it properly. A few of them then surrounded me and kept saying the car was about to break down, leaking, unsafe to drive, and so on. After scaring me with all that, they told me I should sell it to them for $2,500. I didn’t fall for it. I drove straight to the workshop that had serviced the car. Their mechanic checked everything again and confirmed: • Oil level normal and very clean • Coolant level exactly where it should be • No issues at all I called Motor Clinic Autos to ask why they made those claims without properly checking the car. Instead of explaining, the owner lost his temper, swore at me, and when he realized I’d caught onto what he was doing, he actually threatened to find me and beat me. Yes, that’s how he speaks to people. A few days later, I noticed he even left a fake one-star review on my Facebook page out of spite. I’m writing this so other people know what kind of behaviour to expect. In my experience, this business was dishonest and intimidating, and I would strongly advise others to be careful.

    I want to say a huge thank you to Neil, who I was lucky enough to be recommended to by a family member. I originally took my car somewhere else for a WOF and failed due to rear bumper damage, a cracked backlight, a supposed rocket cover crack, and a wheel bearing issue. I was quoted $3000 for the repairs and work, which felt excessive and as a young woman, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was being taken advantage of. That’s when I contacted Neil for a second opinion. He asked me to bring the car in for a look, and right away I felt I was in much better hands. Neil advised me to source the correct bumper and backlight, which I managed to do and his team handled the rest. Not only that, but they fixed the wheel bearing issue on the spot at no cost, saving me $500! As for the rocket cover, it didn’t need replacing as I'd been told, just a clean. We degreased it ourselves at home, which saved me another $850. I especially want to thank Neil for standing up for me and advocating on my behalf regarding the misleading information I received from the first place. He clearly knows his stuff and most importantly, treats people with fairness and respect. Although I went back to the same place to have my WOF rechecked (and passed), I won’t be returning there for any future services. From now on, I’ll be sticking with Neil. His compassion, knowledge, and honesty truly set him apart. Thank you again, Neil!
