   Our hairdresser, Carla, was extremely knowledgeable about curls and how to manage and maintain them to look and feel healthy and luscious. She was kind and patient with my autistic daughter who had been struggling to manage her curls and is now over the moon with the result. 2 days after her haircut she is still finding her hair manageable and is no longer worried about the feel or look of her style. Thanks so much, we will be back!

   I absolutely loved my experience at Urban Kurl Studio in Avondale. As a curly girl, I'm always worried about visiting new salons, having had some bad haircuts before. As I'm currently living thousands of miles away from my usual salon, in a country where there are no curly hair salons, I thought I'd use my holiday to New Zealand as a chance to get a proper haircut, and I am so happy I did! Josephina took really good care of my hair, I am so delighted with my cut. She went through all the steps prior to starting the cut, confirmed what I wanted, and listened to me. She also checked in throughout, confirming the length, the face framing pieces etc. She was very nice to suggest I don't need the higher level appointment I booked due to my curls sitting well and being freshly washed, in my opinion this is a very honest attitude to customers, which is highly appreciated. Brilliant service, I would highly recommend and would happily return again if in the area. Thank you Josephina!

   Loved my experience at Urban Kurl Studio! Everyone was so extremely sweet and very knowledgeable :) Lovely Josephina helped me achieve a gorgeous and vibrant pink ive been wanting for so long!! She was cautious and professional with the process, taking into consideration that my curls wont be too damaged in the process but also allowing me to achieve a bright colour like I had hoped! She supplied me with multiple options, as many as she could to make sure I was certain on what I was getting and I rlly thank her for that! Her coworkers as well were so sweet and helpful with the long process!

   Very happy with everything the team at Avondale had to offer. Good service, plenty of information, comfortable and warm environment so much so that I nearly fell asleep at one point. Kolio was awesome with the scissors and also did an awesome beard trim and line up. Hart was very hospitable and professional with the washing and explaining what and why she was doing. Josephina was dealing with other clients but was warm and chose the best music. Over all just a nice place to be and the skill, knowledge and professionalism was top tier.

   The guy who did my therapy session was incredibly knowledgeable about all things curly. For the most part I look after my hair pretty well but it was nice to know how to do things differently and tweak my routine to really get the best of my curls! I’m very pleased with how things turned out. Only concern is the fact that the area is P60 parking and I was there 2.5 hours so hopefully I don’t get a parking fine. Other than that really awesome place and I highly recommend.

   Went here to get my hair done for the ball and it was great! The staff are really kind and super knowledgeable about curly hair. My stylist was really understanding and patient while we worked through different looks. I was really happy with the end result, it stayed in all night and didn’t get frizzy. And thanks heaps for all the bobby pins haha!

   I highly highly recommend this amazing business to anyone that has a natural curl or wave. I truly believe that these amazing human beings are absolute LEGENDS. I have naturally thick, course curly hair all of my life. I'm in my mid 40's and I never liked my natural hair ever. I did everything I could to have straight hair (chemical straightening, iron straightening etc). But I decided I'd like to try and see what I could look like in it's natural state but done by a professional. I randomly saw a Tiktok showing Urban Kurl and that was my light bulb moment. I had an event coming up, I wanted to look gorgeous and I made my book. Their Website is very clear, concise and succinct. Their rules and terms are straight forward and I like that. But the proof is clear in my pictures, from what I showed up looking like, to the finished result I had the day after the appointment to the Event day on Saturday (2days after appointment) where I have never looked better.
