WIRS has provided a fantastic service to me over the last few years. I really value the ability to come early for my lesson and spend time with my horse by getting them ready for the lesson and putting them away after riding. The stables are clean, organised and well maintained. The horses are only tacked up just before their lesson and untacked immediately afterwards and I notice they are only used for a few lessons on any given day so their well being is clearly of paramount importance to the team. My riding has improved so much from being able to learn from such experienced and patient schoolmaster horses. My coach Anna is a truly unique individual who has real empathy and understanding for the challenges of returning to riding as an adult, so much so that I brought a colleague with me who had not ridden for 30 years. She now talks about WIRS constantly and we have coordinated our days off work so we can spend them together with the horses! Many thanks to the team at WIRS for providing such a consistently high quality experience where the horses welfare is so central to your success.

Really enjoyed the experience. I have some years riding experience, but I've been out of it for about 4 years. Some things came back with muscle memory, other things did not (I could not remember what to do with my hands!). The instructor (I forgot her name) was really great. Patient and understanding, as well as making a great coach. I felt like a better rider after just 30 minutes. Will definitely go again!

We went to look for at the horse riding school/course for our nephew who is 7 years old. We were asking for information about the price and details, and we didn’t get much out of it. She told us to just go check out on the website. Didn’t really feel welcome there unlike other pakeha family who were there as well. Not sure why.

Don’t get me wrong, my daughter loves riding here and she loves her coach. She is doing well however, the customer services side of things cannot be more challenging. Communication is poor, no newsletters to explain about school holidays or updates to explain how things work. It took us three lessons to realise we need to arrive 10 min early, get ‘n hat / helmet and that her lessons are at the outside area and that we needed to meet the coach there. From the beginning I asked to be on a waiting list to move lessons to an alternative day. After several weeks I followed up and asked again if they can keep us mind if lessons open on a different day. Last night I realised, by accident, that alternative slots are offered on Facebook and the first person to respond, gets the slot. I emailed WIRS who said it is only individual lessons that is handled this way (not true as I pointed out a permanent slot 4 days earlier that we could have grabbed had we known), but that they are “happy to cancel” our lessons until I find a better slot on Facebook. So much for letting your customers feel valued! When I checked in on term fees as, again, no communication, I was asked to make payment asap and send proof of payment through. It felt like a little sting as I was the one following up after no invoices were sent and instead I am asked to make payment immediately. They have wonderful coaches on the team however the rest of the experience falls flat.

We have done a few lessons here. It was hard to get on hold with them to begin with, no response despite several emails and voice mail try to book time. Then for the first lesson, it was ten minutes late for a thirty minutes lesson, because the previous person was delayed and we had to wait for the same horse. Today, we were told our booking was changed to earlier when got there. They said they've rang, and ended up ringing the wrong number. We have booked this lesson two weeks in advance. It could be easily avoid if they've checked my contact form, or just drop me an email earlier rather than changing at the last minute. And they cannot just assume we agree to the new time without contacting us. We drove for over an hour return and very disappointed with the attitude - sorry we have tried to ring (at the last minute), nothing we can do. Very poor communication and poorly managed.
