Dave Whitehead was my tax accountant when I worked in NZ as a creative freelancer. After getting married and before embarking on a six-month backpacking trip and moving countries, I fully trusted and relied on Dave to sort my financial matters with IRD. Just this week I shockingly discovered that none of my tax returns were filed and I owed the ever-increasing $5000 in bills, interest and penalties. I spent days frantically trying to reach him by phone and email, nothing. Not even a courtesy of a reply or apology. We even have a friend in common who told me he wasn't dead, because I actually worried about the guy. Thankfully the IRD has been so wonderful to help me through everything as now I have to fix all the problems myself. Stay away from Dave, he's unreliable and unprofessional.
