Dr Jin is fantastic! I was so nervous about my appointment but she was very easy to talk to and explained everything really clearly. She made me feel comfortable and listened to my concerns. I have booked with most of the Doctors at Mclaren at some point over the last 25 years and they are always excellent. I'd highly recommend Mclaren if you're looking for great doctors!
Dr. Hazel is truly amazing. I was initially nervous about switching doctors since Dr. Chris Dickey had been my family’s GP for many years. However, I’m delighted with the care I’ve received and the smooth transition to exceptional patient-doctor relationships. Dr. Hazel and Dr. Maeroa, in particular, have been outstanding. They treat you like a person, genuinely listen, and even follow up on your well-being. Dr. Hazel is incredibly warm and welcoming, while Dr. Maeroa is thorough, charismatic, and always brings a bit of humor and connection to each visit. I couldn’t fault either of them! I was running five minutes late to my doctor’s appointment, and understandably, the fairly new receptionist warned me that if I was more than five minutes late, I’d miss my appointment. However, her tone over the phone lacked patience, respect, and mindfulness, which was disheartening. As a healthcare professional and medical receptionist myself, I understand the challenges and pressures of the role, but I also know how important it is to approach patients with empathy and understanding, especially in a healthcare setting. It’s very unlike me to be late to my doctors appointments, especially considering that my family and I have been loyal patients at the clinic for years. A little kindness and acknowledgment of that would have gone a long way. Thankfully, I arrived just a couple of minutes late, and the receptionist checked me in—but then I still ended up waiting another 25 minutes for my appointment. A simple, “Hey, it’s okay, the doctor is running late, so no worries if you’re a bit behind today,” would have made a world of difference in reducing stress. Sharon, who used to be the receptionist at this clinic, always set the standard for excellent patient care. She was warm, understanding, and made every patient feel valued. It’s a shame that kind of kindness seems to be missing from the current admin team.

Been struggling with the quality of care in Auckland over the last few years - got to the point where I couldn't be bothered going to GPs as it felt like a waste of time. My session with Dr Jin was reassuringly comprehensive and felt like I was in very good hands. Thank you!

I explained my situation, requested and was given an appointment. I arrive early and was advised their computer had crashed, full waiting room, stressed front staff - so they tell me that are now cancelling my appointment because I am a casual. I was shocked at the off-hand manner in which I was treated and I will never ever go there again or recommend them. Very unprofessional and appeared to be run inefficiently from the front end. This is no reflection of the doctors because I never got the opportunity to meet them. The front end let this practice down.
The entire team is lovely! Doc Mae did a wonderful job! Receptionist Claudia was friendly and accommodating! Booked appointment and went in. Overall a hassle free experience!
