I expect them to deliver what is asked. My previous dresser was just amazing however she left the place and assured that I would be given equally great service by the rest of the team, however I am extremely disappointed. My major concern was my Grey's, which I particularly mention during my consultation appointment. Despite repeated mentioning and a good color, I saw upon the end of the process that my Grey's are still prominently visible. They offered another touch up which just adds on to my waiting. I was starving but was not offered anything. I strongly feel the difference and unattentiveness of the staff. I am paying a heavy amount and not getting the desired result. And after paying that much for color, I expect to be given a good blow dry which shows my color and what they have done. But they just air dry and leave my hair with the natural frizzy texture, which doesn't make me feel like I am walking out of hair salon. I still gave 2 star, but honestly I'm not returning back to this place. They do not know how to treat the darker hair, and how to bring the desired color. All they know is bleaching to bring the color. They need to upskill to give services to "not a regular western light colored hair". I'm sorry I had to put it this way as Asian pigments are different and needs a different treatment. This is not a place for Browns, I have finally realized. My previous hair dresser was from Indian subcontinent and knew exactly where to hit it. Waste of my valuable time and of course money. This is a reply to your reply. Firstly, I have been getting my hair colored for over a decade, and I do get the shade that I require without getting any BLEACH. I was told by your stylist that I must get a bleach done to get the desired color which is not expected from highly educated professionals. Secondly I got late by 15minutes considering "Busy mall, christmas rush, no parking slots and huge traffic outside the mall" which might not have been noticed by people working inside the mall. That's not an excuse but a clarification as my appointment should not mean replacing me for other customers, it's not a 15mins appointment. Nevertheless, if it was too difficult for you to accommodate me you could have said to me instead of doing such a huge favor despite my appointment and then clearing it off at Google to show how much you care. I was not very pleased and if thanking the dresser mean I'm highly pleased by service, that's basic courtesy which could not be understood or misunderstood. When I discussed my disappointment with your staff and said I don't think I would return considering the treatment, he very casually said "ok". Is that Rodney Wayne's standard to let the unhappy customer be without any service recovery. I didn't ask for a professional paid blow dry, but doesn't mean I dnt get a nicely brushed dried hair. It's just a way a professional would end up and conclude their job by presenting well. That's not a presentation expected. Atleast not how I have ever left a hair salon in past. IT was not my first visit so I know what to expect, but such a shame that despite being a little apologetic you are attacking back your customer and not accepting the facts. And if you take so much pride in your education, knowledge and understanding of hair type, then why was my Grey's not covered at fist go. You gave a second touch up for your own lack not mine, intact it was a torture to sit another 30mins and go for 2nd wash, do a professional salon mess this way? And after everything, you still have the nerves to attack me back. I dnt need any freebies, but expect a worthy treatment for what I pay for. There are other salons doing the same job in lesser price but there's a reason someone come back, and if you do not like someone to come back then please carry on with that attitude.

Staff are friendly, exact and make you feel at ease, they also know how to cut and style hair. Rachael has cut my autistic godson's hair, a few times now, she's absolutely brilliant with him. He's had anxiety attacks with other hairdressers, not because they were bad or awful people. Kids like who they like. Today we were greeted by the receptionist, someone I've not seen there before. Polilte, but silently hostile. Toward the end of our haircut she stood just watching us. I caught her eye, she turned, huffed and shook her head. I have never been creeped out like that, ever. I decided to ignore whatever it was that was going on. The hostility oozing of her when we paid was overwhelming. I didn't think my godson noticed, we left and he asked why the lady with red hair didn't like us, I replied that maybe she was having a bad day. He then asked if we could move Rachel to somewhere else. I wish, but probably not.

I came to the New Lynn branch after having a great experience at Northwest when we moved to the area. I told the stylists exactly the colour and processing time I was getting previously. After doing my hair they told me they had not done what I asked for. So needless to say I had to return a week later for them to fix the colour. Second time going there they said a full head of global colour was $200 even though I was getting it for $160 at Northwest. They said Northwest were just doing a comb through at the end and they would do this for me, but this wasn't true because I have never had that done before. So I decided to find another salon and upon my google search discovered Rodney Wayne were offering $100 off colour vouchers for that month. They never mentioned it to me, I had paid full price (and more than what North West charges). On top of that - both times I still had hair dye in my ears and marks around my hairline which were not cleaned off properly. I think I'll make the extra 20 min drive back to Northwest now. AFTER EDIT - Rodney Wayne said they would make contact with me about my review - but never did!

I wish I could give it a zero. Please save yourself the stress and just do not go here. I paid $320 for platinum blonde on short hair. That would have been reasonable if I got platinum blonde, but Rachael gave me yellow on top and ash underneath due to her moving on to her next client and leaving me in the toner chair for way too long. I come back a few minutes after paying because my self esteem was destroyed by this. No one should ever go to the salon, pay $320 and leave thinking they need to box dye over it to fix the hairdressers mistakes. I come back, she doesn’t apologise once, tells me it’s kind of just what happens, then she dyes my roots orange in random places. Tells me she wants me to tone the rest of my hair and not bleach it again. I don’t want orange and purple hair so I ask for one more round of bleach. she starts BLEACHING MY HAIR WHILE ITS WET and it hurts because it’s brittle but I feel like I can’t say anything because she was so snappy and rude. when I ask to see it she says “You’ll hate it because it’s yellow.” Her attitude was crazy. There was no sympathy or apology even though all the staff clearly hated it too. Then she puts ash blonde dye over it to fix her mistakes with a bandaid. I now have grey and some parts orange hair but at least it’s better than what it was. I’m mortified and hate my hair now

Just got my haircut from Sam and I couldn’t be happier! Sam is not only incredibly skilled but also takes the time to understand exactly what you want. The attention to detail and the care put into the cut really shows—my hair looks amazing. On top of that, the whole experience was comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommend Sam if you’re looking for someone who truly knows their craft!

There's nothing like being treated to special care and your hair stylist being just as excited about your new style, thanks Chevy!

Worst haircut I've ever had. I specifically asked for a hairdresser with experience in cutting curly hair. The stylist kept fluffing up my curly hair which is a definate no no if you've got curly hair. It's uneven and unflattering. She also kept stopping to show me a multitude of products I didn't want nor ask for. $115 later and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I have so much regret for going to this salon. Today I've spent another $120 and had it fixed. I'd steer clear of Rodney Wayne New Lynn

Had a lady who claimed to own this store come to my gas station to purchase a vape. She after I do not know how many puffs each vape had told me I should know it and that I work at the “bottom of the food chain”. She then had a long rant about how much she hated the very nice homeless people who often sit outside our store quite peacefully and told me I need to remove them from the front of store because they p*ss her off. She continued to loudmouth at me for 5-10 minutes in front of her son at 1am in the morning because her vape was broken and she needed a new one.

I booked to get my hair done after having a terrible hair cut yesterday from a different company. I was booked in with Shivi, she was absolutely amazing and the sweetest person to talk to, i will highly recommend her to everyone that is in need of a haircut. She was so thorough and explained everything perfectly! I definitely have found my hair dresser and will not go back to anyone else! My hair looks perfect again i couldn't thank her enough! Thank you so much Shivi ❤️

Went here to get some purple peeka boo highlight, my first ever trial at hair colouring .it cost me 286$ for 4 foils of purple and full head black (I already have black hair). The peekaboo streaks don’t look mildly purple. They are hardly visible a week later and looked blue when initially done. I was quite unhappy, however after two weeks I got a call from Tala who cut my hair in beautiful waterfall layer(which I love) , she promised she will fix my streaks free of cost. I went back again and she gave it her best. Although not fully purple it looks really nice. I am very thankful that Tala and Rodney Wayne made the effort to undo the damage. You’ve earned a loyal customer.
