    Do not do it. They are a nightmare. They are impossible to contact even when you are trying to upgrade a policy, and they put up your premium the minute you've been with them for 3 years. And the best part? They don't even tell you they're gonna do it. They put a message in your longin but not your email and they call that a notice of increase. Diabolical. Absolutely underhanded. Choose someone else. Literally anyone else is better.

No stress, no run-around, just a clear, straightforward, and supportive process. In a time when the cost of living is through the roof, that kind of reliability is worth its weight in gold. Every claim we’ve made over the years has been this same straightforward process and had been handled with care. I know there are some negative reviews out there, and personally I don’t like writing reviews, so rarely do them. But after our most recent experience (12th November, 2025) I felt it was important to share that our experience has been the complete opposite. NIB has dependably given us real peace of mind for over a decade, and we’re genuinely grateful. Could not recommend more highly.

    OMG I have just read through the NIB reviews and can see that I am not alone in being totally unimpressed with NIB service and pricing. Like everyone of the one star reviews I also tried to contact NIB through the portal and got no response and my phone wait time was close to an hour. Anyway my concern is that having been with NIB for many years, my insurance policy for myself (70), my wife (64) and my son (28) was $1450/month and has now increased to $2308/month...that's a 60% increase!!!! This is simply not viable and for someone in reasonable health with no major pre-existing conditions makes no sense. So like so many of your other clients I will be cancelling this policy.

    My world. I can't believe I was with this company for almost 8 years! I wanted to change my cover and put in a request more than 3 weeks ago through the portal and still haven't got any reply. Now I am on the call and being told the average waiting time is over an hour. I don't see the point of staying with such a company who responds to customer's requests so slowly or maybe simply ignoring our request so I have just cancelled the whole policy all together on their portal. But I guess they will just ignore the request and continue to take my money regardless.

    Hi NIB, I've submitted mutliple queries through the portal, sent several follow-up emails, and attempted to call multiple times during business hours. Unfortunately, the wait times exceed 50 minutes on each occasion, despite trying more than five times. Could someone please respond to my query?

    Slow & frustrating customer service. Buyer beware when creating a 'joint policy'. If you separate, and your ex refuses to pay the policy, they can also refuse to have their name removed from the policy, making it a difficult loop hole which even when you ask NIB to cancel the cover - and you cancel the direct debit - they email to advise you can do mediation or consult a lawyer. Ridiculous.

    Very rapid decline in service. Started taking forever to pay out claims. The wait to speak to a call centre agent is 45min to 1hour. Decided to move my cover elsewhere and they terminated me effective immediate altough I received confirmation on when my cover was due to end.

    Been with them for 8 years ,no issues what so ever ,claims & pre approvals always processed quickly , the only bad thing is that the mobile app stopped working lately.

    Been using their service for years now. No issues, staff always helpful over the phone. If the wait is too long they'll call you back. Urgent pre approvals always done in time. Thanks
