   My girlfriend brought her Mini Cooper in for a WOF. The inspection itself was done properly, and the mechanic showed us the worn rear bump stops that caused the fail. But what happened next was extremely disappointing. We were quoted $374 per bump stop (plus labour) and were told the parts were ‘expensive because it’s a European car’ and that $374 was their cost price. The quote immediately seemed off, so we called BMW/Mini ourselves. Their price for the exact same part was $56 + GST. The difference is so huge that it left us completely shocked. Being told $374 was the “cost price” when the actual manufacturer sells it for a fraction of that destroyed any trust we had in their pricing. If we hadn’t checked ourselves, we would have paid hundreds more than necessary. The WOF inspection was fine, but the repair quote was unacceptable. We won’t be returning, and I strongly recommend anyone who comes here to double-check any parts pricing before agreeing to anything.
