The help I've received from Jack Castle, Jonty Cameron and Kirsty Williams has been amazing. Kirsty made the whole mortgage process super easy and a whole lot less stressful than anticipated. She was always easy to talk to and her guidance/explanations/recommendations were knowledgeable and easy to understand. Very much could not have done this without her. Jack's help with the personal insurances side was also very helpful. He is very knowledgeable and the way he explained everything was easy for me to understand with very little knowledge of insurances. Similarly, Jack's help with house insurance was great. Having him as a liaison made the process smooth and easy. He was always quick to get back to me and also explained things well.

We had a very disappointing experience with Kirsty from Moneybox. Communication was terrible, her emails were riddled with errors to the point where we often couldn't understand them and had to double check all her figures and tell her when rates, fortnightly repayments etc. were wrong. She was also unavailable at key times - she got rates from the bank that were valid for only 3 days, and then was unavailable by phone or email for two of those days, so we barely had a chance to talk through anything with her. We had expected that someone else from Moneybox would fill in and respond to our queries during this time, but no support was provided by anyone else. In the end we felt like Kirsty provided little to no actual advice or explanations, and only gave us rates from one bank with no comparison or options at all. We ended up going to a different financial advisor to get some actual advice on how to structure the mortgage. Kirsty didn't seem to understand what we wanted and we felt she was just pushing us to borrow the maximum amount. Even once we finally agreed on the mortgage structure, the re-payment rates locked in with the bank were wrong, and we had to wait until our draw-down date and spend time processing the changes with the bank. Basically we felt like having Kirsty as our broker made our lives more difficult and we would have been better off on our own.
Selling and buying a house is hard, and a truly stressful time. I didn’t know about Money Box until it was time to get a little finance. Kirsty was incredible. Despite me having had a difficult journey over the past couple of years, she was relentless in securing me a safety net loan should I have needed it. In the end I didn't, but then it came to insurance. I stayed on the phone for over two hours with one insurance company just trying to get a quote. It was like ‘The Spanish Inquisition’. So I messaged Kirsty. She put me on to their insurance team, and within 20 minutes I had quotes from them. I’m so grateful and impressed by the whole team.5 stars!!!!
Jarrod Jarvis from Moneybox has been incredibly helpful in supporting and progressing our recent Auckland flood damage insurance claim. After numerous attempts by myself to get information from both the insurance company and the bank, Jarrod stepped in and managed to get our claim escalated and hastened.
