Great customer service, Shirley (not sure if that's really her name) Looks after you and her stock is quality, silks and linens and cotton. Half price ATM.

After many months over the past 2 years when your shop was not able to open due to lockdowns, and now you can trade again, I would have expected all customers to feel welcomed and warmly encouraged to stay and browse or shop at Shirley's. Instead, I was asked by the shopkeeper, had I signed in and when I replied that no, I had not, I was told that, quote "Well, you need to!". Indeed it was not the fact that I had to sign in that offended me, I would have done so had I been spoken to respectfully. Rather, it was the way in which I was rudely told and barked at. Hmmm, I thought to myself, your shop had been recommended to me by a close friend. I would not shop at Shirley's now if it was the last dress shop in Auckland. I do not subject myself to rudeness. I walk away every time. I came to spend money in your shop. You lose a sale, quite likely a big one as I was shopping for a Mother of the Groom outfit. Needless to say, I thanked you, reminded you that signing in is not mandatory and left and I will not be back and I will let my friend know too. Word of mouth is your best advertiser. If people have a good experience they will tell someone. If people have a bad experience they will tell many others. Think about it!
