I cancelled my travel insurance for a full refund. That was 2 months ago. I still haven't received the refund whilst they make excuses as to why it hasn't been refunded eg refund bounced! DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THIS OUTFIT.

It’s been 1 month and I’m still waiting for the outcome of a small GP claim overseas. Another claim was declined as it ‘wasn’t covered’ although I paid for the most comprehensive insurance. When querying why, the staff member didn’t have an actual answer and said ‘because it’s not covered’. Way to keep your clients in the dark guys. Won’t be using again for my travels.

I recently made two separate claims through my travel insurance, one for damage to a rental car and another for a stolen phone. Both claims were processed and paid without any fuss. I would use Allianz again for travel insurance.

DO NOT purchase insurance from Allianz. I cancelled my pet policy, after re-homing my cat. The rep was facing an error when cancelling but assured me that no more payments would be deducted. Red Flag #1 Two months later, I’m still being charged. I raised this with Allianz and they were “investigating”, saying after 10 days, someone would contact me. I had to contact them on Day 11. Red Flag #2 They responded saying there are no updates, please wait SIXTY DAYS! Red Flag #3 It’s unacceptable for a 3 month investigation for approx $35 refund. Do not use them!

Dealing with Allianz is a nightmare. I wish I’d read these reviews before I purchased a 12 mth travel policy with them. Thought because they were associated with Tower they would be safe. Submitted my claim 28 days ago and despite numerous calls and emails to them - no action and yet they represent in writing to process claims within 10 working days. Broke my elbow and shoulder and couldn’t travel to Europe and that’s when you need your insurance to be there for you, when you need it most. But if Allianz can’t even do the basics of insurance management then it is extremely risky to have a policy with them. Insurance is all about managing risk and ironic that Allianz is spectacularly failing in regard to their reputation risk management. These reviews which are all consistent should leave them utterly ashamed and embarrassed as a company.

If you're thinking of buying a travel insurance from Allianz, don't! I wish AA did not partner with this company. I thought it was all managed by AA, I can't be more wrong. Super slow claim processes, and terrible customer service.

I have been waiting over a month for my claim to be looked at. I have provided all of the required documentation and still no communication regarding my claim. When I chased up my claim progress I received a response blaming covid along with other excuses as to why this hasn’t been looked at yet. I pay my insurance for a reason. Do not use this company.

I would put no stars if I could. Horrendous service for a genuine claim that is not even COVID related. We were left in a foreign country in and out of hospital without any support or even confirmation that we're covered. We waited in our hotel for over 48 hours for a return call which never came. We gave up. On our return to NZ we provide everything they request and we're still waiting 3 months later and receiving emails requesting the same things we provided months ago. They are not fit to operate as an insurer.

Allianz response to my request to claim insurance due covid isolation "Covid-19 has been a known event since late 2019 and therefore not considered an unforeseeable or unexpected event. You would have been aware of the complication and challenges around travelling in a pandemic environment. It is vital, when travelling in a pandemic environment, for travellers to ensure they have the appropriate travel insurance cover in place for any potential Covid-19 related expenses." They only had one policy to choose from so why are they selling insurance that is not appropriate for travel during covid.
