This company is an absolute nightmare to deal with. My car was ran into while parked, they took weeks to comeback to me to say they will pay for it except the $500 excess. I gave them all the details and proof of who ran into my car and they refuse to take the excess off. They are ignoring my emails and the emails from the witness. The accident happened on the 4th June and the company is still trying to ignore my emails and calls regarding waving the excess. In the meantime my car is rusting badly! They are taking advantage of people they believe will not fight back. I am so tired of the terrible service. DO NOT USE! Save yourself time, money and mental energy!

After years with NZI, we have fired them as our insurers after needing to make claims in the last couple of years. They displayed no empathy for our situation, caused significant delays in processing our claims, employed below par companies to make the necessary repairs and did not engage with us as they should when dangerous short-coming on electrical work completed was discovered. We moved all our insurance to other companies. Not only were the premiums less, the overall attitude in our interactions has been much better from the insurer. NZI may sell 'peace of mind' but you'll seen find out how hollow they claim is if you need to make a claim.

Registered address for State Insurance. They have the belief they do a decent risk assessment. You wouldn't know it trying to cancel an overpriced policy and obtaining a refund - email tag. Absolutely incredible. If you can't understand and follow simple English in an email - you have no place providing risk assessments and charging outrageous prices. Shame on you.

We are still waiting for any communication from NZI despite submitting a claim for damage to a car well over a month ago. This happened well before the severe weather - related claims. We have a fleet of 100 cars and pay a big annual premium to NZI for fully comprehensive insurance. An assessor viewed the claim more than one month ago and all information was submitted. Itβs not that NZI is refusing to pay the claim, simply that the company wonβt respond to anything at all. Weβve lost count of the number of emails and phone calls weβve made and will have to seek legal redress soon.

Can't believe what just happened to us. Our car was involved in an accident and was insurance by NZI. An assessor (Bruce Robinson) was assigned to do the accident assessment and decide whether to fix the car or write it off. After his initial assessment, he called me and advised me that it will cost them 14k on parts plus labour to fix the car. This was subject to another assessment by my nominated panel shop after they remove the damaged panels and to make sure there was no structural damage, which was supposed to be done at the panel shop. This never happened according to the panel shop. I called NZI before Xmas and was advised that the they have approved the claim and they will fix the car. Today I went to the panel shop just to find out that they haven't even seen the car. The car is still at the towing facility. The accident happened on 1st December. This doesn't match with what Bruce explained to me over the phone that they will only make the decision once the panel shop has done the second assessment. If I haven't popped in at the panel shop to enquire about the car it would have still been at the towing premises. After phoning the towing company they advised us that they are still awaiting confirmation from NZI to drop the car to the panel shop for second assessment. Absolutely pathetic.

I experienced a 10 month saga with AON/NZI for my commercial vehicle where I was hit head on by a vehicle which was on the wrong side of the road. This culminated at around month 9 in the following email I sent to NZI. 1.How has this vehicle been allowed to be Certified by your engineer when it is clearly structurally bent and defective? 2. How has this vehicle managed to get a COF when some of the parking lights have not been connected and the door does not even close properly? 3. How has your Assessor and your Repairer passed this twice for quality control? It is clear to me that AON, & NZI and everyone involved has put profit margin above all else. Customer service, quality control, clientβs safety and safety of other road users clearly come second place. I received NO reply to the above. NZI finally paid me out in full (so vehicle was actually written off after numerous repair attempts) + a lousy $5k compensation after I sent the above email and threatened to go to the ombudsman. I endured over 10 months of stress dozens and dozens of emails so many sleepless nights I had to find $30k of my personal money to buy a replacement truck just so I could make a living (a few weeks after the accident which was in March 2020).

Really poor service (NZI Business Insurance). Everytime we ring, it takes far too long to even find our business policy - today, it took 25 minutes (on hold, with horrendously loud and awful hold music) -- just to cancel our policy. And over the years, they have sent out many duplicate invoices, all in error. The most pathetic insurance company we've ever dealt with.
