   Speaking on behalf of my husband, who visited this store on February 28, 2025, around 11 AM. He was dressed like a tradie that day, and instead of being treated like any other paying customer, he was met with clear discrimination from the sales representative. His inquiries were dismissed, and he was made to feel unwelcome—simply because of how he looked. Rather than offering proper assistance, this salesperson was condescending and unhelpful. Despite this, my husband still purchased the shoes, but the experience left a bitter taste. No customer should ever feel judged or unwelcome based on their appearance. Absolutely unacceptable service.

   absolutely love this place bought a pair of salomon xt-6 with the two dudes. they were both cool dudes with one even speaking filipino (im filo). was quite busy but still attended to my needs. didnt catch their names but they were some of the best employees ive ever come across.

   Not sure what is happening with this business, it was one of the worst online shopping experience in NZ I had. Waited for a week for my order to be shipped. Every time I contacted customer service I was told is was ready to be packed and couldn't give me more info. In the end, I requested refund which was processed within 3 days (at least i got the money back). Won't be shopping there again

   Absolutely terrible customer service. Walk in. See a shoe I love. Zero awareness from the service team, no hi, not a single word. Try to ask for size. The two agents are conversing, and i manage to ask. Feels like I am interrupting. They say one sentence - “last pair” without even looking at me and go back to conversing.

   I don’t know his name but the store assistant working in the Queen Street location was my life saver today. He noticed as soon as I entered the store the heavy textbooks I was carrying and straight away offered me a bag to put them in, he has a hilarious humor too!! He was so helpful with finding the right shoe size for me, I went into Hype to buy a new pair of shoes as the boots I was wearing were giving me real bad blisters. He was so patient with me and super understanding. He’s a real superstar! I hope he gets promoted to a higher position, he deserves it!! More than customer service, he is genuinely just a sweet human being :) Thank you to him!!

   I will give all the stars/credits to Dylan and his team based in Hype Queens Street. HYPE management team or other lovely customers please be aware of the stars ONLY for them in my case, without Dylan's assistance, I will rank here ZERO. I received a pair of shoes all left in boxing day sales per the attached pictures. I called the New Market store from which the shoes were delivered. They told me they cannot find the other right shoes, and the only option is to refund me. I ask whether I can talk with the management team and be told sure but no callback the whole week. I followed up call to the customer care team and was told I can get the refund from any store in New Zealand. I went to Queens Street Hype and was told the system does not allow them to refund me (not the Quees street team's fault but HYPE has not updated the system), I have to spend a couple of hours dealing with the issues caused by HYPE new market store without any compensation. I can see the hard work Dylan and his team were delivering and showing empathy, trying to find alternative solutions. ALL in ALL, I reckon Dylan is a good asset to Hype company. I hope HYPE can grow up learning from customer reviews.

   Received awesome service from a young shop assistant who's name I cannot remember. Was hunting for a certain pair of Veja's but they didn't have my size, so he ordered them from another store to be delivered to me in Whanganui. Did this on this on a Saturday and I had them on Wednesday. Thanks!

   Amazing service and knowledge from Kim. She knew exactly what my partner was after, and explained how a sneaker should fit. Her friendly professionalism was enough for us to buy some additional accessories, and she also acknowledged and welcomed new customers coming into the shop. Will definitely recommend Hype and will happily shop here again.
