   Our family held 3 separate accounts with UHY Haines. We receive no discount for having these three accounts in this business. We receive no benefits for loyalty ( 7 years a client, ) , no yearly calendar either. They charge for every email/ correspondence sent to you. In short we find, with their current high charge for their accountancy work, , that we can no longer afford their services.

   Absolutely recommend against using them. I used them for a number of years and left once the new directors took over as their prices went through the roof. When I was shopping around for a new accountant all three accountants I visited told me I was being ripped off by UHY. Since changing accountants my yearly bill has dropped by 7k and I'm getting the identical quality job completed.

   I have been using UHY Haines Norton and Arpita Kahnwalkar for 6 years. They have made my tax preparation easy and I think are reasonable in their fees. Because I'm a US citizen and live in the US but have NZ income, their help with NZ tax laws is necessary. I would recommend them.

   This firm tried to bill me for tax services they did not provide. After multiple attempts to follow up with them on when my taxes would be filed, I had to stop working with them because I did not get a timely response. Nevertheless they sent me a bill for over $800. In addition, they were not upfront about the fact that I didn’t even have to file a tax return which I found out later from IRD. Lastly, they requested to see sensitive estate information that was not needed for my tax return. I suggest using another tax service.
