   This store is good. It has very organised racks and items are easy to find. My experience with the staff was also good. My qualm is that the changing room floor was dirty and the middle of the store felt rather cramped.

   Thoroughly unpleasant experience at Portman St Luke’s today at 5.45pm The staff member serving me was Maria Victoria Necesito. I brought in 6 items of clothing my partner had ordered online. They were not the right look or fit so she wished to return them as per their refund policy. I took it in today because she works late. Maria was unhelpful and made me feel unwelcome. She said multiple times that ‘this is too many items’, ‘you should not do this’, ‘why are you returning so many’. That made me feel like we did something wrong. But we had read the returns policy which initially gave us the confidence to buy online so we could try it on in the comfort of our home. And return the items that we ultimately did not want. There were no other customers in the store when I walked in. Maria was not busy or in the middle of something. I could not think of a reason why she seemed so unwilling to help and approached someone she only met for a minute with so much hostility. A great reminder why men do not feel comfortable in Portman Maria also stated ‘you should not return this to the store. You know it wipes out the sales for the day’. I found this a bizarre comment to make to a customer. I am not aware of the inner business dealings of individual stores but how can returning clothes (only tried on once, in perfect condition and with tags still attached) cost a store so much money that Maria would chose to attack a customer with her attitude and words. Maria also asked me multiple times why I was returning the items. How many times do I have to say that an item was the wrong size or wrong fit? Maria seemed to work extra slow at the computer to eat up my time. And she flung the items of clothing onto the counter behind her like they disgusted her. Good to know that she treats the clothes with less respect than her customers. I have attached a photo of the refund policy which was ironically located on the front of the counter that Maria stood behind.
