Nurses and Drs there are nice and kind. Well, we can’t complain about long waiting time as it’s free health care in NZ.

Nurses and doctors were amazing but the blonde lady (I think her name was Hillary??) I saw at reception was condescending and rude. When I was talking to her she would sign impatiently and yell at me. I was already quite distressed so this was quite an upsetting experience… Very disappointed, expected better.

i understand that they are understaffed and it’s run on severity but 10 hours waiting for the only person in vocalised pain and there are people being discharged that arrived hours after us that are in no visible pain and smiling away. Being told that the doctor is close to seeing us and then see them chatting away with nurses and laughing. for a hospital on a severity based system there seems to be no prioritisation for those in visible pain and all hands on deck for patients that are up for a friendly chat.

Worst ER ever! Was there at the ER for nearly 12 hours for a doctor to see my husband. The reception team was highly discriminative. They weren’t bothered of the pain that the patients were going through but of course they had their own conversations to go to and to laugh at patients who were asking for help. I had to go to the reception and ask them time to time to remind them that my husband hadn’t received any pain killers - it took them 7 hours to realize that they need to do something about it ;( Absolute waste of public funds !

Just simply amazing staff here. They treat people on a severity basis, and that is the best way. They are polite professional and consider considering some of the attitudes I hear in the hallway from members of the public I think they are heroes. Not all Angels have wings But a good number of them seem to work here

Don't come here unless you're actively dying. Instead go to the after hours urgent care clinic, pay $50 and get seen there or a referral to expedite through public care. Triage is ruthless enough that extreme back pain and a sudden inability to walk due to said pain is considered "not urgent". It's really hard to flag down a nurse for medication during your long, indeterminate length wait. Staffing is unacceptable and more govt funded is critically needed.

All these people complaining about wait times are complaining in the wrong place. Do you know what the term 'Understaffed' means? You want to have go at someone look to the people who pay them - the government. They are not getting enough funding, plain and simple. And injuries are seen based on importance - not by when you turn up. That's why they can't estimate how long it will be.

Ridiculous wait times, aware they’re busy but been here over 7 hours been seen once 5 hours ago. Not offered any painkillers pre given any idea of wait times. Appalling service both reception and nurses - should be ASHAMED

Need to work on cutting down waiting time for patients doesn’t matter how sick someone is no one comes to ED for no reason and then you are forced to wait for hours maybe 6-10 hours its a joke to the medical service I spent 5 hours waiting for kid to be checked up by doctor ended up leaving because there was long wait maybe another 3-4 hours very disappointing of wellington ED

Doctors are competent and work hard. Friendly receptionists, despite the regular presence of hardworking cleaners the waiting room of this ward is not the cleanest..The waits, depending on priority, could last up to 12 hours, vending machine have expensive products, bathrooms not exactly clean.I realize that there are many critical issues and the solutions require study and time, I hope they can find that as soon as possible
