I strongly advise against coming to this clinic. Many employees are both unprofessional and unqualified. I saw a specialist weeks ago who spent the entire initial consultation going over what my referral said, and then gave me a couple of badly printed out pages found on the internet, and told me to carry on doing what I already was doing. She then said she likes to work across three sessions, which gave me hope that the following ones would be more practical and would make use of the strong base that was established in the first one. I booked the two follow-ups, and waited three weeks for the first one. Sadly, two days prior, I got a call that it was cancelled and was offered to see someone else the following week. The person on the phone did not seem to understand why that was an issue, and clearly hasn’t heard about continuity of care. I took work off, I waited three weeks, I spent $200 talking to one specialist, and then you cancel the follow up appointment with less than 48 hours notice, offer me to see someone else a week later, say you will call me back to discuss a different solution, but don’t, and then ignore my email and go on your three days weekend. Well, I decided to come in person, since I already took work off, and that’s when I learnt that the person in charge doesn’t work Fridays. I also spotted the specialist in her office, as well as patients in the waiting room. She made sure to close the door when she spotted me. It took me a minute, but I now understand that that specialist decided to no longer treat me, and honestly this is quite a strong and unpleasant feeling. In short, you can’t do that. You have a responsibility, we all do. We all work different jobs, some more important than others. If your job is to look after clients, then you call them back and reply to their emails, especially before going on a three days weekend. If your job is in the medical field, it is even more adamant that you do it properly. You don’t go around and waste people’s time, and have them open up to you and then brush them off. This is coming from someone whose mum is a midwife. You really should take a step back and think this whole thing over. Maybe you felt unqualified? (you said it yourself you have not treated such issue before). Then don’t advertise that you treat it on your website and don’t charge $200 for it. You offered me no help, you took my money, you wasted my time, you broke my trust, and made a grave and personal issue even worse. We all have a part to play, let’s make sure we do it well.
