I have had 3 visits recently for what is now seen as a bulging disc but was initially diagnosed as a lumbar area muscular- ligamentous injury. The staff on 2 visits were exceptional. The nursing staff demonstrated care alongside good sound clinical judgement. The medical staff were great, communicative and supportive esp on my first visit. I was in so much pain I could hardly walk. I was still in pain, but it had settled with medication action, I felt supported by the time I left. Even though I'm a nurse they were careful to explain detail to me, all while accepting my input and perceived needs. I highly recommend this service if you're in need urgently but don't sense the need for ED.

I have had only the best experiences with the After Hours Clinic in Wellington. The intake staff are really friendly and understanding, I personally have always gotten help in a very reasonable time, (but I never expect to be seen right away and I'm always happy to be triaged), and every time I've had an issue, it has been well assessed and sometimes better or more accurately assessed than through my GP (who is also lovely but there is a time restriction that is quite hobbeling to really good thorough care). I brought them flowers and a card once after my treatment because they were so thoughtful and professional, and because my terrible experiences with A&E in Wellington have left me with a great appreciation for kindness and professionalism. Triage is always going to leave people who are in need and in pain waiting a bit (hopefully to help people who are in greater need or unfortunately in more pain) and it's never a perfect system; but, in my experience, Wellington Accident & Urgent Medical Care facility are the perfect place to go if you cannot get into your GP or you have a more acute/critical issue. Top notch.

We had an extremely disappointing experience today. After waiting for 4β5 long hours with my nearly 3-year-old toddler, who had been having loose bowel motions and fever all night, we were expecting urgent care and proper assessment. My child was uncomfortable, hadnβt eaten anything all morning, and clearly showed signs of dehydration β yet all we got at the end of the day (around 3 PM) was a prescription for paracetamol. Not even ORS was provided or recommended. I am fully aware that anti-motility drugs are not recommended for children under 2 years, but basic hydration support and proper assessment are essential. It makes me wonder what kind of triage system they have in place β especially for toddlers, who can deteriorate quickly when unwell. Such a long wait for minimal care is unacceptable. The lack of empathy, urgency, and basic management for a sick child was truly disappointing.

I visited Wellington Accident & Urgent Medical Centre in Newtown today and had a very disappointing experience. We were asked to wait for 3-4 hours, but ultimately ended up waiting over 4.5 hours before being seen by a doctor. When I inquired about the wait time, I was told it could be as long as 14-16 hours at the hospital, which feels like an unfair comparison considering the timeframe they initially gave for seeing a doctor here. Additionally, I found the staff's attitude to be quite rude. A staff member compared my situation to hospital wait times in a way that felt dismissive and disrespectful. I understand that the clinic prioritizes urgent cases, but itβs important to remember that patients like me are here because we're unwell and need medical attention within the day. The triage system seemed highly inefficient. I waited almost 5 hours and was then only seen for about 10 minutes. If consultations typically take just 10-15 minutes, I question why it takes so long to get seen. Better management and clearer communication could really improve the patient experience. Overall, I hope the clinic takes this feedback seriously and makes adjustments to better serve those who need prompt medical care.

The two people at the front desk were both very friendly and helpful with helping fill in all the information they needed on paperwork. The nurse I saw was very friendly and doctor I saw was extremely good and ask all the right questions to. I did not have to wait long , I was there for less than a hour as I went in early so that helps. I was happy with the price I only had to pay $ 75 dollars and that was on a public holiday.

The staff at reception greeted me with a smile and very friendly helpful. The triage nurse was lovely and her bedside manner brilliant, she was very calming. Dr Thilo Marquardt greeted me with a compassionate smile and asked some questions to get some understanding and medical history whilst keeping things very relaxed, he conducted a few basic tests and then his conclusion and way forward was delivered in a manner that I could fully understand and complete with reasons why. At the end he took the time to ask if there ere any questions i had rather than just shuffle me out - simply brilliant and instilled confidence in the entire process and medication prescribed, 48 hours later i am on the mend.

I get incredibly anxious about going to the doctor, luckily it was a slow day today so I didnβt have to wait for ages to get seen. I was seen by Dr Cheyenne, she was very kind and made me feel super comfortable. I left feeling a lot better about my injury than when I went in, so thank you!

I went here because I saw on the website that there is free antivirus medicine for someone who have covid symptoms but donβt have prescription. I just arrived in Wellington for a few days. So I didn't know the standard of giving medicine. I went to ask the nurse at the front desk and the young nurse was nice but I didn't make it clear so she gave me a form to see the doctor. After I filled out the form, I was greeted by an old lady with short hair. She asked me what visa I was on, and I told her it was a student visa. Then she told me I need to pay $250 fee. After saying this, I don't know which one of us had the ear problem, she kept telling me she couldn't hear what I was saying. She said I don't understand what your purpose is here. (Now I understand why there was a previous comment saying she doesn't like foreigners). Then she called an elderly nurse to ask me, and I told her that I only had mild symptoms and wanted to know if I could get free medicines (because I had received free covid medicines when I was studying in Australia, plus The description on the website, I thought Wellington also had it). But the nurse kept asking me why I didnβt take the covid test, and didnβt listen to what I was saying. I didn't know until the end that I wasn't eligible for free medication. I was really confused. When I was about to leave, the old nurse stopped me again and asked me why didn't I do a test here? I thought she was talking about the free self test box and I was taken to a room and waited for the nurse to come. Then the lady with the short hair seemed to think I was someone who wanted everything for free and didn't want to pay for it, come here tell me very loudly that the covid test will cost $120. She said "do you want to pay or not?" There were a lot of people there and I really found that attitude very rude. Wonβt be going there again.

I arrived today around 6pm, I was seen by the triage nurse fairly quickly , after I did not have a long wait before a doctor came to see me. my doctor was Dr N.Sawicki , she was very kind, considerate and understanding, I feel that she had a lot of time and respect for me as a patient, In the past I have been to other clinics where it feels like they just want you in and out the door as quick as possible. But I feel that dr Sawicki was the opposite and treated me with dignity, respect and patience.

Went here when my hubby got asthma episode.. We were Being helped speedily and professionally, with friendly nurses. As patient with trouble breathing and short breathness, we had the priority. We stayed for about two hours to finish the protocol for asthma patient. The nebulizer and prednisone helped. Thank you so much Dr. Cheyenne Heka, Dr. John, and nurse Robyn and nurse Kate. As we are not Kiwis and have no insurance, we paid NZD 250 up front for this service. It has pharmacy and Pacific Radiology for X-Ray as well at the vicinity. The after hours open everyday, from 8 AM to 9 PM if Iβm not mistaken. You can always check out the opening hours. Itβs disability friendly with ramp entrance and facilities for those with reduced mobility
