After looking around to get my first full sleeve done, i landed on Mike at Monarch tattoo and I couldn't be happier. From the first consult, to lying down in the chair, Mike was there every step of the way. Have had tattoos from a few places in Wellington now, and Monarch has been my best experience by far. Mike is friendly and welcoming, and goes out of his way to make sure you’re happy and comfortable, and of course has great skills. The shop is super clean and tidy too. I’m sure I’ll be back again. Got an amazing thigh piece done here, and will definitely be back for more. The shop is super clean and the artists were all very friendly and made the time fly by. Highly recommend popping in if you’re ever walking by as they’re always willing to go over any your ideas whilst adding their unique flair. I’ve had so many people come up to me and be blown away by what Mike created, super recognisable and looking even better as time goes by somehow!
I was looking for an artist to work with my existing tattoo as I wanted to extend it to a 3/4 sleeve. Every artist I met wanted a "fresh canvas" & had massive egos! All that changed when I hit Mike up, he was down to earth & keen to work with what I had & incorporated my ideas into the design with his unique artistry. His work was so good that I went back a few months later & got a full sleeve. Enjoyed the yarns & looking forward to the next one mate!
Almost three years late review but loved getting my second tattoos done at Monarch Tattoos! Mike carefully made sure the tattoos were properly aligned and spaced out. Really friendly and loved that they kept the design the same and didn’t try to change it. Also really good price, and really well done. Will be back!
