Nice beach suburban beach. Recommend for a sunset view that offers serene view on a good day when sun sets behind Mana Island. Mountains of South Island can be seen behind Mana Island on a clear day.
You canβt beat Plimmerton on a good day. Classic safe, suburban sandy beach. Karehana Bay is best, though a decent walk from the ice creams and fish and chips. Toilets and chafing rooms at the Boating Club entrance. Check out the new cafe at the club!
Nice view of the beach and Mana Island with the mountains of the South Island in the distance. There was a Maori PΔ here "Taupo PΔ" and there is an information board detailing some of its history. There seemed to be a fair amount of parking space but if full there is space on the edge of Plimmerton Domain on the other side of the railway track ( accessed from SH 59).
I went along the side of the road and footpath for a walk. Very nice scenery!! But very Salty from the breeze off the sea.
A great rocky beach to explore.
Peaceful and beautiful. Good chip shop and cafΓ©s nearby. Great to walk along. Stunning!
Lovely accessible beach with a view of the South Island on a clear day. Ideal for a short walk, to sit and relax, perhaps have a quick picnic meal of fish and chips from Plimmerton Fish Supply. Keep an eye out for the mannequin in the window of one of the houses: what outfit will she be wearing today?
Great place for an evening walk. Nice view of bay, mana island, and south island on a fine day. Really lovely sunset
Plimmerton has a great local beach. The water is usually calm and it is really shallow for a long way out. It is a sun trap in the afternoon, offering very little shade. We love it in a morning as it is quieter. There are rock pools for the little adventurers and the bigger adventurers can launch kayaks and paddle boards here. One end has a public toilet and there are a variety of cafe's on the main street just one road back. Plim is great.
