I have only the best things to say as I had my shih tzu checked by Emma the vet who was just so caring and compassionate putting my mind at ease. I am just so grateful.
An amazing team. I foster Dakota first and then decided to adopt her. The training the foster team did and the communication was top notch.
Originally we had the most amazing experience with SPCA Wellington but a few days ago our girl went missing, I contacted the SPCA in regards with any advice on the matter and possibly finding a humane trap to leave outside. I was met with a woman who sounded very disinterested, I was in tears over the whole ordeal and the woman on the phone (she had an almost American or Canadian accent) cut me off multiple times after asking about a trap, she told me to try hire masters or kennards and said “goodluck” in a condescending tone, it seemed like she was about to hang up on me so I asked if she had any advice on what to do in this situation, she again cut me off telling me “goodluck in your search”. This whole conversation has entirely rubbed me the wrong way, the SPCA is supposed to be about animals and caring for those animals, the fact that I adopted my girl from here and was treated like this is appalling and I unfortunately will not be recommending anyone turn to here for advice. I really hope this person I spoke to is provided with more compassion training as there seemingly was none, I called as they opened and she seemed as though she had better things to do, as someone who was already very upset and vulnerable and to be shut down multiple times in the same conversation, I’m appalled by the behaviour.
I can’t thank the SPCA team enough! From the very beginning, they were so kind and supportive. I first looked at another pup but realised I wasn’t confident I could give her the level of medical care she needed. I was nervous to admit that, but instead of judging me, the team reassured me I was doing the right thing by putting the pup’s best interests first. They helped me find the perfect match for my family and after our trial adoption, we never brought her back! She’s now the sweetest new addition to our lives, and we are so happy. The whole process was amazing, and the staff went above and beyond, even patiently answering all my questions over email. I’ve already recommended SPCA to friends and family, they truly care about both the animals and the people adopting them.
The team are amazing both with animals and humans. The support we have had during our adoption process and afterwards is second to none.
We adopted Soup 3 weeks ago, it was love at first sight and the feline team made sure that she was ready to come home with us with all the essentials she needed. Thank you for giving us the time to hang out with her because it became very obvious during those moments we had to adopt her then and there. Smoothest process ever and honestly so happy. Thank you team !!!
It was a breeze dealing with the SPCA team through the adoption process of our puppy and again when we took him back for vaccination. The team definitely know their dogs and are happy to answer all your questions. Go team SPCA :)
It took 3 days to go from application to bringing a new member of the family home. They were really friendly and helpful. They are quite strict on having adequate fencing and often requiring someoneone with a lot of time. Having a dog/puppy is no easy task, I can see why a lot of people can't handle it and return their animals. I've felt overwhelmed at times, but I'm learning how to deal with her and have a lot of patience - in return she's learning before my eyes.
I don't often write reviews, but I felt obliged to after our fantastic experience with the Wellington SPCA centre. The care, love and affection that they shower these animals with is unmatched, especially considering the amount of resources they have available to them. They really worked with us to find our perfect cat. I can't speak highly enough of the outstanding work that these amazing humans do.
Very happy with the response to my call, regarding a possible neglect situation. The SPCA acted quickly, and sorted the issue. (A lovely wee dog that was being looked after by a neighbor) Pleased that the SPCA rung me, and informed me of the outcome.
