We were a client of theirs for years and very happy with their work until they charged us for their time in writing a reply email to us and giving me full access to our own Xero accounts which I should have had all along when it was originally set up. It was then that they lost us as clients. I hope the $97 was worth it to them. We were never aware of any complimentary services given to us prior despite the response below and as far as I'm aware, despite being a not-for-profit, we always paid full price for every service that we received with no discounts or provisions made available to us. You should always let people know you will charge them for giving advice or assistance before you do so, it should never be a surprise. If you are going to use this Accounting firm, I'd be very sure about what you will/won't be charged for otherwise you might also find that your access to Xero is restricted incurring an extra charge for them to change that for you and their responding to your email enquiries are also charged.
