Pretty poor to be honest. Same experience as others regarding pricing. Driver didn't know where to go and just drove around for 20 mins in the CBD. When I suggested gently where to go he accused me of wasting his time. Driver was also either tired or just distracted, drove through two red lights and four near misses. Not worth the hassle, just choose a different cab in the queue if you want to arrive at work with your blood pressure intact.

I implore you to report Kiwi Cabs to authorities, specifically NZ Transport Agency and Consumer Protection. This was a deliberate confidence scam. I was taken from Wellington Airport to Dixon Street, asked to choose the βupperβ or βlowerβ route, and despite insisting on the shortest way the driver ignored GPS, drove a longer circuit, and dumped me at the wrong location while the meter ran out of sight. A normal $25 fare became $52 with no upfront price disclosure and no visible ID or license on display, which appears to breach NZTA rules on route choice and fare transparency. I have preserved the details and will file a formal complaint with the NZ Transport Agency and Consumer Protection.

I travel frequently for work, usually flying 1β2 times per week. On this occasion, I opted for a Kiwi cab from Wellington Airport because Uber was surging at $70. The typical taxi fare home is around $46. At the start of the trip, Dafar (the driver) applied the airport surcharge, which I expected. He entered my address into his phone GPS, but did not follow the route. Instead, he took a longer, busier route through the tunnel, despite both his GPS and mine showing faster alternatives. So, I paid to sit in traffic. Upon arriving at home, I recall the meter showed about $67. No problem. About the same as the Uber. He stopped the meter. When it came time to pay, he asked if I was paying by cash or EFTPOS. I said EFTPOS and got my card ready for PayWave. He entered the amount into the terminal but presented the device with the screen facing down, so I couldn't see the total being charged. I saw on the receipt I had been charged $88. That was $21 more than the metered fare. Having read some other Kiwicab reviews, I see this is a common trick their drivers employ. This was a disappointing experience, Kiwi Cabs. I wonβt be using your service again.

Got absolutely scammed by a taxi from the airport. Took the more expensive coast scenic route to town without asking (and I didnβt notice till he had made the turn off), very defensive rude driver when I queried this decision. Itβs a long standing scam some drivers run on out of towners who donβt know better, this is just the first time Iβve seen it in 10+ years. By far the most expensive taxi Iβve ever had on that route. Unacceptable. Also additional $3 fees for paying by card just screams scam operator. Taxi number 56

Absolutely garbage, booked a cab to get to the airport for 3am, only for them to tell me they had no cabs available when I called them at 245am (I had booked a cab the day before). Not even a heads up. Nearly cost me and my fiancΓ© an international flight. Avoid this company at all costs, this is the reason taxis are dying and Uber is taking over.

Rang on a wet and windy evening after working at Newtown Festival rang to catch a cab to town from my air b n b waited for 45 mins still a no show. Rang to enquire on hold up. They said another 60 min wait. Never have i experienced this. Wouldn't recommend

$170 from Airport to Porirua, which is $50 more than other cab companies I used. There was also a surcharge of $10 departing from the ariport, no reason.

DO NOT BOOK - the taxi did not turn up to drop us to the airport despite booking it a day before! When we spoke to Kiwi cabs after several tries, they said the taxi wonβt be coming. When asked why they didnβt inform us the woman screamed down the line saying that she didnβt take the booking and it wasnβt her problem to let us know and hung up on us. We were left in shock and scrambling around for a taxi at 4am - a farewell to a family member ended up being a very stressful situation as they nearly missed their flight. Extremely appalling customer service with customer service personnel who scream at customers and leave them stranded.

Taxi ride from Airport to 256 Lambton Quay left me at no 120 Lambton Quay saying this was the correct place. Lady answering kiwi cabs calls was very unhelpful and refused to send a cab to take me the rest of the way. $49.70 should be refunded to me. Not impressed at all
