Is there anyone here, having unauthorized transaction cost $5875. Last december 5, 2025 complaint was made, New card send. Receive december 8, 2025. But registered december 24, late registration due to unable to link a card. And another unauthorized transaction cost $700 in one full day transaction dated december 18, 2025. This is a traumatic experience it cost a lot of money. We dont know how to pay for it. Its really heartbreaking.

I made a full payment towards my account on 06 Dec 2025 at NZ Post to close my Gem Visa account. It’s been 7 days (5 working days) and the payment still hasn’t been processed. I’ve contacted customer service 3–4 times, and every time I get a different answer—first 3 days, then 5 days, now another 2 days. This is absolutely unacceptable. When they want money, they call and send letters immediately, but when I pay and want to close my account, there’s zero urgency. I need this account closed so my broker can proceed with a home loan before Christmas, and Gem Visa is making this impossible. Terrible service, poor communication, and no accountability. I will never use Gem Visa again and strongly advise others to think twice before signing up.

GEM Visa is frustrating and unfair. Despite making regular payments, I’ve been charged high interest (29.49%) when promotions expired. I lodged a complaint on 6 Nov 2025, and still haven’t received a response after more than a month. Their lack of transparency and poor customer service make managing this account extremely stressful.

REPORTING THIS TO OMBUDSMAN NOW - BEWARE KIWIS - MY EXTREME POOR EXPERIENCE WAS WITH STAFF CALLING HIMSELF "ADMIN" (don't know if it's his real name) OMG !!! absolutely rude staff, talk over on you, don't let you to finish before start giving you solution thinking what we are going to ask, scream on the phone, calling me rude and don't understand them instead of them making me understand.

Under any circumstance, do not sign up with this company. They are huge scammers and won't even process our payment anymore. We paid our monthly bill and nothing has been updated. We've tried to call them and you are on the phone for hours. Someone finally picks up with a thick Indian accent which sounds like they are trying to get your personal bank account details to hack and steal from you. When you hang up, an Australian number calls which is a scammer. Extremely dangerous company that needs to be reported for fraudulent activities.

Their system currently has no way to long in, has been like this for some time, any time your want a transaction or even wanting to close your account, it takes days, that's if you can get the support team to understand your query correctly and they don't send the incorrect documents/files

You miss a payment and you will receive 5 calls a day, starting from before 8am until 8pm (sometimes later) and they will also call over the weekend. Yet when their system gets hacked it took them 3 months to inform me all my personal data had been stolen. I originally signed up as a joint account only to find out 2 years later that it was never set up as a joint account. I have asked for this to be investigated and still waiting on a response. You tell them you are going through a hardship withdrawal and waiting on funds but because you can't give them an exact date they will continue to call. The best call happened today, company had changed bank account details about 2-3 weeks ago and no communication has been sent to me. I am so glad I called them to find out my overdue balance otherwise I would be paying into the wrong bank account and no doubt receive another 50 calls by the end of the week. If I could give them zero starts I would. If I could change loan companies I would be doing so in a heart beat.

Worst service ever... So my I bit behind on payment so they stop me from using my card I informed gem in for extra time and advised that I will make payment in full and when I did they bloody closed my account even after checking with 3 different person who all advised that I can use it once account is paid is full. And now after moving all my pay to account in belive that I can use it. When called they simply denied apologies me that were have closed the account. Now left with no money at all . And after calling their helping line who all just said they can't help. Train you staff gem to put correct information. Really bad service

Spent nearly a month now chasing a payment that was accidentally made to gem to have it refunded, after filling out multiple forms and waiting weeks I was finally told that they had found the payment and to fill out yet another form, only then to discover my account has magically disappeared and they can no longer find any of my details and refuse to assist me without the details in their system. Absolute joke.
