All the children were forced into writing these reviews to make the school seem better. Many of the teachers were not very helpful (Mrs. Carol and Mr. Price). I learned absolutely nothing in my time at Raroa and was set up horribly for college. They have this thing called mathletes and extreme writing which is the stuff you are supposed to be learning in class but instead, it's only available if you are "smart". If your kid isn't that much into sports i don't think this is the school for them as you are less supported.

I’m probably biased. No, I definitely am. Raroa was honestly the worst two years of my life. It was probably because of my mindset and other uncontrollable variables. Mostly, the students and teachers and not a great education system. Sure, they have an outstanding Design Production Education system, and awesome electives and great sports opportunities, but they never mention the actual classroom time. I did learn some things from Raroa, but most of it was from Mathletes or Extreme Writing. Most of the learning I did there was socially, like learning how to grow up. I didn’t like any of the teachers at all - but I don’t think they liked me or simply knew me at all. Some were unnecessarily cruel to students (Ms Collins, Ms Carroll, Ms Herbet), but who can blame them, really? Also, a lot of the 5 star reviews on here have been orchestrated by the teachers. I remember one day a bunch of kids were picked to write reviews about the school during class time (seemingly without reason?) - probably to maintain a nice facade, I don't know. But yeah, most of the reviews are fake - or at least, somewhat forced. I once wrote a 3 star review in year seven (on my school account, a mistake), and for some reason one of the deputy principals talked to me about it during class time and “encouraged” me to delete it. I did, because I was pressured, but still. One last thing: no one pronounces the name of this school properly; and the teachers don’t even encourage it. You have to roll the r’s, otherwise you’re not really saying the name, are you? The point of this is that I don’t even go to Raroa anymore and people in my life tell me everyday that I’m obsessed. At least high school is better… so far.

I love Raroa. There is so many learning experiences and opportunities and the staff is amazing! I never want to leave because it feels like I have been here for only 1 week time has flown as I have had fun. I definitely recommend it.

Raroa is an amazing school i have had a truly wonderful experience. I have made so many new friends. The teachers are great they have given me a really good learning experience. We always have time to go outside and have fresh air. DPE I think is really good for new life skills and preparing you for the real world.
