The best way to learn is on the job (for me anyway) and Yoobee is perfect for this. Both the Level 5 and the Level 6 courses are rich in information from experienced tutors and in opportunities to make amazing projects. Best two years of my life without a doubt.

I’m currently studying the Diploma in Film and TV Production at Yoobee Colleges, and I’ve got to say, it’s been an amazing experience! The course is super practical, giving me hands-on skills that are really valuable for my future in film. I’d rate the learning experience a solid 9 out of 10, with the course content coming in at an 8. One of the best parts has been the community. I’ve made some great friends and had the chance to connect with industry professionals, which has really broadened my perspective and opened up networking opportunities. The tutors are passionate and supportive, always pushing us to challenge ourselves and explore our creativity. Plus, the weekly free food shelf has been a lifesaverβ€”having fresh fruit and veggies around has helped us get through when energy's been low, especially during busy weeks. Located above the train station in Wellington, the school has a lively vibe, with all the hustle and bustle below adding to the experience. Overall, my time at Yoobee has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited about what’s ahead! I can confidently say that this journey has helped me grow not just as a filmmaker, but also as a person.

A lovely campus, very close to transport and coffee and warm communal spaces. Very much enjoying studying software development here.

Studying here was the best decision I’ve made. Small class sizes and amazing tutors made it a memorable and positive experience

Wow, truly out of control here. Won't reply to phone messages or emails. The courses are not run as described. The only response seems to be via replies to reviews. There is something fundamentally wrong here. And these are the people in control of our next generations' futures. I hope you're not at any rally today, you need to earn pay increases. Time to put our focus back on Victoria University who clearly know what they are doing and are very professional indeed. Particulalry with accepting all forms of contact ...and "replying"

Clearly NOT the place it used to be. I can waffle on all day about what is wrong -just read the other negative reviews, I agree with all of them. I am actually watching the poor treatment of students on a 'full time course' (x3 half days a week) that said it was online and on campus (online only all year). And the boss who won't talk about it via email... Due diligence required if you are thinking of study here -They certainly know how to "rope" you in. But that's all they know it seems

The Wellington Yoobee campus is very stimulating and is blessed with tutors who really care about the wellbeing and success of their students. Each of them are down to earth, passionate and dedicated problem solvers in their areas of expertise.

YooBee colleges is associated with the Apple retail brand - an item that's upped 100% based on brand perception. Regardless of that, this small, independently run college is of average-to-poor quality. There are a few (FEW) engaging tutors with industry backgrounds, some of them truly lack confidence or delivery, student skill level is average-to-poor with a few exceptions and there is a lack of oversight or independent review as you get with larger (real) university courses. Private training providers are set up to: get wealthy parents overseas to fork out for international fees, there is little other reason for the program to exist, for instance they teach a diploma in technical film, 3D animation - the allusion being the course will graduate to work in Wellington's film contract industry (Weta, etc), of course, none or maybe one student from the entire year gets offered work there. The (company) known as Yoobee college also teaches web and code for developers; all of this material is taught more effectively via the city's free Lynda.com tuition resource, complete with video content and teaching materials. If you ask random people about their experience at YooBee, oftentimes stories will come back about difficult, or ineffectual tutors. Some are great (a solid 40% of staff there are great, helpful people.) Is the course worth the cost? No. It's at best a public school course run by a for-profit company hiding behind the Apple brand.

The school is a literal diploma mill with zero accountability for their under qualified tutors. From what I've seen out in the real industry their curriculum is outdated and their claim for 'teaching industry standard skills' is questionable. They don't respond to student feedback and seem to treat their staff badly, general bad vibes and management. Highly not recommended.

Pretty good place to study design type diplomas. Teachers seem to love their job and inspire the students. I learned a lot in my course and hope I can use the skills in the future. However It is really hard to find a job after graduation, with so many more confident design graduates in NZ and the fees are high. But it's overall a great place to study and very much a learning environment where you will learn a lot. Would recommend to others who want to work in the design industry.
