   I have travel insurance booked with this company for an up coming trip and wanted to add a health condition since purchasing the policy. The email address they give to contact doesn’t work and comes up with a failure message. The link to update policies comes up with a “whoops not found” and there is no contact number. I dread to think what would happen if I had a claim. Cant even get through to them to cancel the policy. Have used this company before but never again. I wouldn’t even rate them one star!

   I would never recommend anyone to buy a travel insurance with this company. They have the longest processing time compared to any other insurance companies I've been used. I lodged a claim on 29/08 and not get a reply until 10 days later on the 09/09 with the negative outcome, TINZ is not cover for my damaged phone. While other provider replied and got into my case in minutes when I'm stucked at Hong Kong Airport due to flight cancellation. Imagine you stuck in the airport, flight got cancelled, you try to contact your travel insurance and they reply you 10 days later... A lot of bad reviews here can tell how good or bad a company is, and for me, I won't come back to TINZ again. Bad experience!

   While I’ve used this provider many times in the past, my recent experience trying to make a claim was incredibly frustrating. The process feels unnecessarily complex—almost as if it’s designed to make claiming as difficult as possible. Going forward, I’ll be putting more thought into reviewing my options before choosing a provider.

   Don't use this provider! They will grasp at straws to weasel out of paying your claim. Recently went on a holiday where I had to book new flight tickets due to a last minute flight delay with the original airline ( had no choice due to arrival deadlines ). Being that this was exactly a scenario I got travel insurance for, I lodged a claim which was declined. Couple email exchanges later and obviously a waste of time trying to argue the point, but seriously either use a different provider or save yourself the few hundred bucks cos this lot are hopeless.

   Do not buy their oversea travel policy if you are planning to go travel longer than 90 days. It almost let me bought 6 month worth of plan (I just put the dates in the website and they gave me a quote) However, on the in page 9 of their policy, it says the journeys can be up to maximum of 90 days. It should not have let me choose the option to buy 6 months, or gave me a warning instead of assuming everyone will read the policy (my friend unfortunately got many of their claims (including medication for illness) declined because their travel was longer than 90 days) I almost bought their plan due to their cost being cheaper than others that included various activities. However, seeing how they slid that 90 days wording in the policy without any pre-warning, I do not trust their ways of doing business (I ended up buying policy from AMI as they could partially cover the trip instead of needing to cover from the day 1 till the return like TINZ)

   Truly appalling. And I am still struggling with them 3 months later. My claim has been repetaedly ignored. I opted not to even bother trying with the second claim and am paying for that myself. Both relate to medical issues neither of which were pre-exisitng conditions. To be honest I would rather not take out travel insurance than go with this disgraceful excuse for a travel insurance company. Be warned!

   Be careful everyone with this company. They will find a way to runaway from a legitimate claim. I am glad mine wasn't a major one. Please keep away!!!!

   I would like to give a negative -5 star rating if possible I would not recommend this company to anyone all they do is wiggle out of responsibility and will not pay any claim. Absolutely disgusted with their communication and level of professionalism, I will take every necessary step to make an official Ombudsman NZ complaint. DO NOT BUY

   Convinced this insurance company is a scam and are using morally devious methods to frustrate claims. We have made 2 claims, and have experienced a serious delay in communication from TINZ. Their response time is quoted to be within 10 working days, in reality it is double or triple this length in time only to get a generalised reply. They ask for information that is either unavailable or requires you to explain something that has previously been covered. We lodged our first claim 5 months ago and are still waiting for it to be completed. All in all, horrible experience and would rather be uninsured than waste time with these people.
