Our company recently took a business trip to the Wairarapa and arranged for 18 staff to experience the Remutaka Rail Trail 1-day ride. We booked the e-bike experience, and we truly can't recommend it highly enough. The team at Wildfinder were fantasticβ€”so well-organised, with outstanding communication. They provided everything we needed for the ride, including a really nice packed lunch. We chose to finish the day with a tour of the Fell Locomotive Museum in Featherston, which was the perfect way to wrap up the experience. It was fascinating to learn about the trains and people who once operated along the very trail we had just ridden. Five stars!

Great service - they arranged a pickup/drop off in Wellington. Tony was very helpful with a last-minute date change and had very helpful recommendations for getting the most enjoyment out of doing the ride. I tried the e-bike and had so much fun, it will be hard to go back to a regular bike.

Great service! I hired a bike and baby trailer and it was delivered, set up and ready for us to get started, with the lovely Tony even helping my friend set up her own bike trailer. Highly recommended.

Great communication with Dave, and bikes were perfect. Four of us did the Remutaka Rail Trail en route to a weekend in Martinborough – beautiful ride with a cool history. Despite an unusual (and probably annoying) itinerary Dave worked with us to organise pickup/dropoff times that worked out perfectly. Cute dog too!

Highly recommend hiring some bikes off Cycle Remutaka and just riding the Remutaka Rail Trail Incline section if you have limited time to explore this neck of the woods. Dave and the team were fabulously flexible when our group were a little last minute as to which day we would actually do this and nothing was a problem. Relaxed riding without any traffic and lots of historic points of interest (would suit any beginners) and the bikes and shuttle back to our wagon were both excellent quality and value for money. Look forward to fitting in the complete loop sometime.

Three friends and I did the Remutaka Rail Trail over New Years, with a detour to Martinborough. We originally planned to book Dave’s shuttles to take our gear from and to our accomodation, but Dave ended up picking us up to start the trail as Wellington trains were replaced by buses and we couldn’t take our bikes. Dave was incredible helpful, informative and friendly, providing lots of information about the trail and the area. The ride from Upper Hutt to Cross Creek was wonderful and one I’d recommend to everyone. Due to some bad planning on our part, we got caught out on our last day riding around the coast from Te Rakau cabins through to Eastbourne. Due to tricky conditions (sandy terrain, gale force winds, lack of a real track) our ride which was expected to take 3-4 hours took six hours, and we missed the last ferry back to a Wellington. I would warn inexperienced riders to check the conditions before setting out on this part of the ride. It was a very stressful and physically demanding day and Dave literally saved our bacon with a pick up. He was extremely busy but he made the time to help us out and makes sure we got home safely and I’m so grateful for that. Thank you Dave, your kindness and generosity won’t be forgotten!

What excellent service Dave and the team gave us when we did this cycle ride. We did the trail in 3 days and it is at times its not for the faint hearted. On the last day due to atrocious weather overnight Dave suggested using eBikes for the last and roughest part of the trail at no extra cost... They were a god send. A brilliant, brilliant trip with a truely remarkable company. I highly recommend them, all the equipment is top notch and they have a great deal of experience. The trail itself is amazing and well worth the effort. We saw wild pigs and piglets, goats and deer and about a million rabbits... but unfortunately didn't see the wild horses.
