I visited this After Hours Medical Centre about three weeks ago with ongoing symptoms including dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite and general unwellness. Unfortunately, I felt my symptoms were not thoroughly investigated. I was prescribed antibiotics and antihistamines, which later turned out not to be necessary and actually made me feel worse. I spent time and money on treatment that didn’t help, and only later, after seeing other doctors, was it confirmed that antibiotics were not required. I understand after-hours clinics are busy, but I believe a more careful assessment would have been appropriate given the symptoms. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and helps improve patient assessment and prescribing decisions in the future.

We visited Lower Hutt Medical Centre for the first time, and the experience was outstanding. The staff and GP provided excellent medical service from start to finish. Receptionists Linda and Marina welcomed us with warm smiles and went above and beyond to help us get the right treatment from the doctor. While waiting, we noticed how kindly they treated other patients β€” even getting up from their seats to personally assist people. That level of care is truly exceptional! The GP was very professional, asked the right questions, examined our health issue thoroughly, and provided the right treatment promptly. This was one of the best doctor visits we’ve ever had. Highly recommend Lower Hutt Medical Centre β€” thank you for your outstanding service!

Doctor I just saw was so incredibly rude, didn’t listen and told me pretty much to hurry up as she doesn’t have time. I took less than 5 minutes in my consultation after paying $100! Want to know why there are so many treatment injuries? I’m absolutely appalled at the level of care or non care in this case.

Dr Lucas Lachowicz was the most caring doctor I have been to. Could tell he was actually interested in finding the root of my issues which I have not experienced before. The reception lady was very nice and patient aswell under the busy stressful atmosphere.

Really impressed with the standard of care given and how nice the staff are all through the centre. Despite being really busy with packing up to move, everyone was professional and kind. Some slight miscommunication as the nurse didn’t seem to understand I was Deaf, but the doctor was very helpful. Wait time was about 40 minutes and Dr took time to listen and check me over thoroughly and provide good solutions. A really good community service.

Maybe you should put on your website that you aren't seeing hutt city health centre patients anymore. Not really the patients fault that you and hchc have had a falling out and their Dr's won't work at the after hours anymore. You guys will gladly see all the refugees but will try to turn away Lower Hutt born residents. Receptionist super rude and the wait time is ridiculous. $115 later and some much needed antibiotics after a 2 min consult with the dr. Absolutely disgusting. Hope like hell we don't ever get sick after hours again.

Staff were fantastic, it was super busy as to be expected but we were still well looked after. The nurse I had, British, was lovely, thorough and very friendly. Thank you for looking after us.

Thank you to the wonderful people who saw my 88 year old friend on 31 December. The person at the front desk, the nurse and the doctor, were all exceptional in responding to his needs, listening carefully to what was happening with him, asking questions in a friendly plain-english way and explaining to both he and I what was happening for him, his treatment including the medication being prescribed and the care he required when he returned home. This exceptional service all delivered with out a hint of any haste, even though there were numerous people waiting to be seen with a wait time of up to three hours. Thank you again for being there for our community after hours and the professional and caring service you provided; so much appreciated. John

A really caring and efficient team. Despite the massive influx of patients all of a sudden, all the staff were polite and thorough with examinations. I was assessed by a kind nurse fairly quickly then given the option to sit in the car and wait for the doctor. This is a really good idea because it allowed a breath of fresh air and a comfortable seat. The wait for the doctor was also pretty short. Despite the long queue of patients, the doctor was very calm and thorough. He didn't rush his examinations, gave a good explanation, thorough advice, and answered all my questions.
