Jo and the rest of the team at Devenports Law provided exceptional service. Jo was incredibly knowledgeable and always kept me informed throughout the selling process EVEN on her days off. She offered me valuable advice regarding the conditions of the sale which saved money and time leading up to settlement date. I highly recommend them for conveyancing purposes.

We recently engaged Davenports Law for advice on trusts and wills and were very happy with the service and value provided. Kirsty Roberts was a delight to deal with. She provided very clear advice and was very efficient. Would definitely recommend to others.

Had two issues to get sorted and these were put to bed, as they say, very quickly and efficiently. Compared to another law firm I had dealings with over an estate, Davenports communicated extremely well and answered the questions I had. I just wish all professional firms operated at this level!!

My first contact with Davenports Law was on 30 June 2025. In this first email, the lawyer asked me for my and my husband's full names and main points to update so that she could draft up new wills for us. After a few emails confirming how payment would work (as my employer pays for legal advice), I wrote out my wishes and sent them to the lawyer on 15 July 2025. On 17 July 2025, the lawyer asks for my phone number because my wishes were apparently more complex than a straightforward will. I miss her call, so I attempt to call her back twice, but don't get through. I manage to call and speak to her on 21 July 2025 and in the call, she asks me some information I had already given her in my email on 15 July 2025. I then sent her a follow-up email on the same day (21 July 2025). On 31 July 2025, 10 days later, she still hasn't replied. I email her to ask for an update, and she replies on 1 August 2025 asking if my husband also wants to prepare a will and what his instructions are. I reply to her on 7 August 2025 confirming yes and his instructions. On 22 August 2025, 15 days later, she still hasn't replied. I ask for an update again, only to have another lawyer reply to me telling me they will be assisting me with the preparation of the wills and working through the instructions in my email. No mention of any wills having been drafted, or any previous progress made, or even if the first lawyer had gotten started at all. No mention of an expected timeframe, no mention of when I can expect to hear back. It's also surprising that the first lawyer acted as if our instructions & wishes were very complex and something she didn't want to deal with - our situation is fairly simple; we don't have any partners/children from previous relationships, businesses, trusts, investment properties, or overseas assets involved. I understand it's common for people to simply pass on their share of ownership in their house to their spouse/partner if they pass away, and if the partner/spouse have also passed, to the children; I personally decided I would like my share to go to my children while my husband keeps his share if he is still living. I don't think this is an overly complicated request? Yet after requesting this, the lawyer said it was more complicated than expected, would cost more than she originally quoted me and that she would need to work everything out and get back to me. I have gone with someone else to help us update our wills. Update to respond to Davenport Law's response: No apology for their lawyers not replying to emails for 15 days or even any indication that any work had been started on drafting our wills... I made the right choice going somewhere else.

As someone who is new to needing legal advice and help with purchasing a home, it was very important that we found a firm we could trust and that had our best interests. Claudia Holmes from Davenports Law, has made this experience so much easier than we anticipated. Claudia explains everything clearly and has supported us through any tricky areas of S&P agreements etc.. She is always available and very friendly which has made our numerous interactions smooth and as stress free as possible. We will continue to be clients of Davenports Law due to their outstanding work, communication and care for us.

I would not recommend this law firm. The staff were very unfriendly and unprofessional. Even though I stated I no longer required their services, they continued to charge me for unnecessary work. I was advised by my bank that the information they provided was extremely basic and was not worth the cost at all. Avoid these lawyers at all cost.

Nice office space with tree views. Friendly service from the beautiful ladies at the desk. Dealing with the lawyer was a breeze...no time wasted, which is always ideal. Zoe is quite charming, care you dont fall in love at first sight! Highly recommended.
