   Appointment at 1.30. Arrived to find the doors locked 'for lunch' even though they were sitting at reception. Had to stand in the hall and wait. Consult cost double what i was quoted on the phone. This is not how you run a business

   I went for a growth scan here yesterday for my first pregnancy. Excited, looking forward to seeing my baby. Came away shocked by the quality of care I received from the person doing my scan, a lady by the name Helen. She was rude from the moment she opened the door to the scanning room, didn’t acknowledge us, just signalled with her hand to come in, didn’t introduce herself until my mother asked what her name was. She didn’t bother to mention what she was doing, when I laid down on the chair she squirted the scanning gel on me without notice. When I asked questions she implied she couldn’t hear me saying “huh” before answering with a rude manner, and really felt like she was providing the bare minimum amount of information - but had no problem stating how “big” my baby is growing more than once. When it came to cleaning the gel up she just threw a cloth on me and left it there, I then realised she wasn’t going to help with cleaning it up. Now I don’t mind cleaning it up, but in my previous scans and midwife appointments, the provider has always at least asked if I’d like assistance with this as you’d know if you’re pregnant that it can be hard to wipe all the gel up yourself. The standard and quality of care Helen provided was barely reaching the bare minimum. She showed a lack of basic kindness, consideration and hospitality towards me - considering I’m a soon to be who just wants to feel confident, comfortable and reassured by the care she receives. Based off a few other reviews, I’m not the first person who’s had this same experience and Helen has been providing this type of service for years now without being held accountable for her poor service. Will be writing a formal complaint.

   SHOCKING EXPERIENCE. We had an appointment at 1:30 pm. They came back late from their lunch break and the technician did not explain anything for our first pregnancy scan. They never sent the email with the images and we needed to call 8 times to get hold of them to find out they did not have my email address. This place needs a different mgmt URGENTLY.

   I had my final growth scan done at Horizons Porirua with Barry, he was gentle, easy going and nice and despite his older age, he gave me a hand to get up off the bed. All my previous scans were done at Pacific Radiology and they definitely did NOT go above and beyond like Barry did. Thanks Barry :)

   HELEN the old lady is very rude and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND going here . Worst pregnancy experience . Went for my 20 week scan and couldn't find out the gender . Tried to rebook and Helen cancelled my scan and said no. She got everything she needed from today's scan n no need for rebook. Very upset , very disappointed, Helen hope you get fired silly old lady

   Highly would not recommend! Ultrasound technician did not detect very serious issues in my child over numerous scans, does not explain or provide any insights during the scan. Upon my child's severe issues post birth and passing, these issues should have been detected during ultrasounds (showed in images captured). How they were overlooked during very regular scanning is a failure in our medical system. Would not recommend this practice.

   Lift out of order for an 80 yr old for level 4 appointment. lovely north city security Neil helped, dad had to walk up stairs very slowly, msny stops. lovely man had wheelchair at the top and was prepared to carry dad up with others in chair if needed. Receptionist lovely and very helpful. Sonographer bit stressed with time but soon warmed up. Wouldve helped knowing in advance that lift has been out of action for 2wks and no date for repairs.

   I’ve been with Horizon Radiology my first and now my second pregnancy. And I get lovely service. The receptionists are there to do their job. It’s out of their hands whether your forms are with them or not. But they go out of their way to wait for you to find out what’s happening all while serving other people. I’ve never once had any bad experiences with any of the team. You can see they have signs and notices on their walls/ doors/ counters to inform you of certain things especially with Barry’s hearing problem. The lady’s there are very professional. It’s a business after all and I appreciate that. They are firm on their rules which they should be because equipment isn’t cheap…. Thank you Horizon for the quality service.
