Community law is OK for non complicated issues but if you have complicated or complex situationship, try not to get your hopes up as you will end up having to go to a lawyer anyway. But I do have a bit of advice; if you are smart you would pick your battles very wisely, otherwise get yourself acquainted to statute law, regulations, and or rules. If you dont you and your situationship could get shafted by the officers of the barr.....

Poor experience. The front desk shouldn't ask what personal matter is about if he's not a lawyer . The information given none of them do what that said was asked or recommended. The guy talking to me saying they're not funded enough etc etc. I didn't ask for what problems he or team was having. Total waste of time dont bother .

Very poor experience, I have visited this place few times thinking next lawyer will be knowledgeable. their understanding of law is very poor. Last lawyer I met did not want to provide advise but wanted to photocopy my all document? so, beware

The Lawyers at CLC are always very helpful and informative, & the many times I have sort legal advice, there has always been a positive outcome. I Highly recommend the free service CLC offers our local community.

The team is very supportive and provides assistance related to attestation, legal advises (limited to few topics), which are very helpful. I have used the services thrice, and definitely would return to them.

Community law in lower Hutt are not that helpful. Say if you are talking to a lawyer about your issues and they are not that helpful and you want someone else. So she gets another lawyer for me and he comes in but you don't want her in the room with you when your talking to him about whatever. So Yeah she was in there it felt like they were against me. Because she was sitting next to him giving me the nasty looks while I was by myself sitting on the other side. Trying to talk to him about my situation if you know what I mean. So yeah that's what happen. I have been to community law 4 times now. And still no help from them.

Lets face it- sometimes you just gots to have some legal advice. This is a great place to start. And you can't get cheaper than free! Tee on reception keeps everything relaxed.

Didn't find the guy very helpful at all told us pretty much what we already knew..but the whole reason we went there was to seek a way around our employment situation - which I knew there was, just needed the legal side of it. Was a waste of time just wanted us out. Next day called an employment lawyer - couple of calls, texts, emails & a very reasonable cost (under $180) later..situation resolved, with very happy results by both parties within 48hrs..the actual staff & law centre itself & the way its operated is very good though, very friendly.
