   Highly recomend coast academy to anyone looking to start training bjj. What interested me about Coast Academy was the womens only class and it has been the highlight of my week since I started! Jade keeps the class fun and always brings the energy and the community of women that participate are incredibly welcoming. If youre looking to start training bjj, there is no better place!

   Our son's been going to Coast Academy for nearly a year now. He's progressed from Junior orientation to Junior class. He's gone from the shy kid who doesn't want to do any contact sport to looking forward to sparring in class. Coach Jade has been amazing for our son. She understands each child's personality and encourages them in different ways to help them progress. She's supportive, caring but also firm. Jiu-jitsu has been amazing in helping our son build confidence and self discipline. Would definitely recommend it

   Great class for under 6. My son loves his twice a week training and the coach is amazing. They mix training and play which the kids love. My son used to get upset when he loses a game but after joining jiujitsu he now understands that’s it’s okay to make mistakes and lose in a game, he would say ‘just try again’ ‘I’ll practice more’. The attitude has changed and the discipline is apparent. Thank you, Albany team!

   When I first joined coast academy everyone was so welcoming. Barry is very good with coaching and makes class a little more fun with his sense of humor. I really enjoy the energy there. Everyone is so respectful and rolling is super fun. My daughter also loves the kids classes. She is introverted and shy yet Charlotte was able to help bring her out of her shell more and make her feel safe and welcomed. Definitely recommend!
