This is a fantastic experience we went for an end of year Christmas event, it’s been a tough year so we wanted to do something a little bit different and it was. There is something for everyone and we escaped the serial killer finally

Fun experience. I used the filter on the website to find the kid friendly rooms as I bought 6 kids and the Meteor strike one we choose was probably a bit too hard for them. With abit of Adult help we worked it out. The kids were mainly 8 year olds. They were nice and let us add an extra child to our booking too.

As with any good escape room, some hints are needed to steer the players to where they need to be or how they should think about the problem differently, so here are my hints to solving the puzzle of a failing business: 1. As with most work places, they need to open and ready for business before the customer arrives, even if they arrive a little early, it’s just good customer services and work ethic. 2. Make sure that the room is reset properly from the previous game as to not confound players when they find a puzzle piece just in the floor instead of inside the canon. 3. Speakers are cheap these days and can be lined into a room with minimum effort to create the right ambience, instead of an iPad that you have to turn up the volume for, but down when you activate a clue 4. Furthermore on the clues, they should be just that, clues, not a video on how to solve. 5. Whilst employees watching the player struggling on a problem, maybe they don’t casually walk into the room like they’re part of the game and point out a key that has no clue pointing to it. 6. An escape room by definition has two meanings, the first and obvious: Escape the room, and second: An escape from the real world. One should be transported to another world or life that we could never live, not in a paint faded, polystyrene canon balled, iPad speakered, broken fruit and WINDOW TO THE OUTSIDE STREET room. 7. As a business, I understand that it’s important of what to spend and not spend money on, a painting on a wall, maybe less, the props that are going to be used time and time again? That would be one to spend the money on to get the longevity out of it whilst maintaining quality, instead of re-drawing the skull and crossbones on the coins with vivid by hand, or the fruit, as fake as it was, is very much passed its expiration date. 8. It can be pretty telling when in a bustling city on a Thursday night that there is only one time slot booked, even with being well placed inside the city, that either the reviews and fear of leaving a 1-star review have put people off or that the rooms haven’t been updated or changed in a while. 9. Requiring people to give an honest review whilst the SOLE staff member is there (H+S requires a minimum of two) is pushy when a simple β€˜If you enjoyed it, or have any feed back, please leave us a review on our website’ that way you are able to control the narrative as much as you like. 10. Management should not be responding to online reviews with incorrect accusations and following up with a private email in a much more aggressive and childish tone, showing they are the opposite of what they claim to be, understanding and value feedback. Don’t ask for feedback if you cannot take the constructive criticism that will, in the case of this business, always come with it.

Had a wonderful time playing the Circus escape room! The puzzles were creative and intuitive, we got out in record time. They have a cool system of removing optional clues at higher difficulties to not take away from the overall experience at easier settings.

We went back to do the circus. The experience was a lot better than the last time, but one of the ping pong ball was stuck in the case and we had to guess the clue on it. In general, the business invested a lot on the iPad and QR code setup with the intention to make the process smooth for customers and for them to leave with a good experience. However, it would be really awesome if they could also keep the maintenance up to date too. ----------------------------- We did the meteor strike room, the tv was broken and the phone wouldn't ring, which we weren't told before we entered the room and we spent a significant amount of time trying to solve. They shouldn't be operating these rooms if they are not well maintained or let people know that these parts are broken upfront. Thoroughly disappointed with the quality of their rooms and services.

The directions for finding the toilets were more difficult than the escape room!!! Staff were friendly but the facility isn't the best.

Pirates treasure successfully plundered. A fun way to spend some time together solving problems figuring things out.

Nice experience. We did the Pirates one on medium level and managed to escape! Only niggle was that the safe was faulty so although we got the code right, we had to call in the attendant to physically open it. They did give us a heads up about the fault before we started but it's still a bit awkward. Apart from that, it was great fun!

Came here, having done all the rooms at Manukau Escape Masters. Staff are 5/5 and a pleasure to deal with, but after easy mode on the Serial Killer room was way too easy, we tried Prison Break on hard, and made it out in almost the same time. Only 2 of us. Props are very worn and rooms could do with some atmosphere. Probably wouldn't bother with the other rooms based on these factors. We asked for a reccomendation and we did that one...but we need more of a challenge and visuals are everything when you want people to be repeat customers. Staff fantastic. Accommodating too.
