Frustrating and Unprofessional Experience. I had a confirmed appointment through VFS at the Wellington Immigration office to complete my UK visa biometrics. The day before, it was abruptly cancelled due to an “unexpected system issue.” I had taken time off work, paid for flights and accommodation, all of which were wasted with no alternative offered. No one responded to emails, so I went to the office in person. The staff member at the counter was completely dismissive and unhelpful—no empathy, no apology, just indifference. For a service handling sensitive immigration matters, this level of communication and professionalism is unacceptable.

people working there were kind but I was applying for a uk visa and everything I read said I would be able to pay to hold onto my passport for the biometrics as i had to travel, was informed this was not the case. I also had provided everything aside from a standard confirmation document which I assume would be easy enough to print out/that they would have a copy of however I was told I would not be able to do so on their system. essentially resulting in a 700$ loss for what is really an easy fix. Long story short there's a lot that could be done to make it better and more customer friendly and its quite frankly not good enough. hopefully others can learn from my bad luck and the poor service. (this was done via vfs)

Now 5 hours later they want us all 3 to do a English test to prove we are English. My husband has his Master's Degree and schooling in English. We grew up speaking English. We all 3 went to English schools! How much more English must ONE be? This is going to cost us R5000.00 each! It's just more & more money each time.. This is really getting beyond RIDICULOUS! We are both beyond the End of our tether!

We left our home country for a better life and have been in New Zealand for 8 months now. My husband & I both have 2 year working visas. We decided to apply for our Permanent Residence as we qualify but we're told we have redo our police report with fingerprints after being here for 8 months. My husband contributes the New Zealand Economy as an Engineer. We fold our home in our home country and all our belongings. We have started fresh WITH NOTHING only to be told today we have until the 24 May which is next week to get our Police Report sorted out or we will lose the R58000.00 we just paid yesterday. How are we supposed to get a Police Report done from South Africa in 1 week. Then we still have to pay extra for the finger prints here. NOTE We have already paid for Fingerprints & police reports last year July 2022. We have been living in NZ for 8 months already. How is it possible that the government CANNOT SEE that we lost everything coming here and are in our 50's. Struggling to survive and they still want to take away our last pennies we have left? How is this supposed to be a JUST EQUAL BETTER LIFE? Please tell me how you CANNOT SEE that it is hard for us! We left our families behind and we don't know ANYONE here. Now we have to put up with this? It is NOT RIGHT! Both people my husband spoke to last night NEVER EVEN HEARD what he said. They just cut him off!
