    Terrible customer service. I wanted to look at the clearance plants but could not see them. I asked one of the staff if she could show me where they were, she looked cross. When I went to pay at the till,Op: 72S (there was no name on my receipt) was not happy to serve me, no welcoming smile, no hello. Just a humpy looking face. Not a friendly store, at all. We will stick with Kapiti, where the service is exceptional.

    One thing you can be sure of shopping at Mitre 10 Mega Porirua is friendly staff both in the cafe and in the main store. A wide range of product options at competitive prices. I prefer to shop where the staff make me feel welcome and part of their day unlike some similar stores. Mitre 10 staff make it worth the visit. I make Mitre 10 Porirua one of my regular destinations as I inevitably enjoy the experience (and the cafe).

    5 star review for the lovely young Pasifika woman (apologies I didn't catch her name but wanted to make sure she was identified) who assisted me on the 25th of June around approx 5/6pm with my dehumidifier. I brought in my dehumidifier (almost at 2 years old) due to electrical faults and concerns, wanting to check my warranty and if I could get some help. Initially I was assisted by an older lady who misunderstood my request thinking I was after a return/refund, after I had specifically asked for some help with my machine that had sparked when I plugged in & was wanting to know if it was still under warrant and/or if someone could help fix it. She then proceeded to tell me I needed a receipt even after I showed my online contact with Mitre 10 noting the staff could call the shipping store upon arrival to assist and get the receipt details as it was an online order, but she told me to ring the store myself. As I went outside to grab the machine from my car & brought it back in with my daughter, I hear the woman telling the young lady I was after a refund/return which was in fact untrue, I quickly corrected her and this is where the young lady came in and helped me out. As I purchased online there was no physical copy but she was super helpful as I showed her the email contact with Mitre 10 & online details i could provide, The young lady got the initial staff member to call up the shipping store and was just super helpful and sorted it out fast and efficient. Great customer service, attentive, listened to what I needed and I was able to get a replacement as I was still within my 2 year warranty. The difference in service was visible & I think shes a great example of perfect customer service. Thank you very much to this young lady- approachable, super helpful and super happy with the outcome.

    Garden centre is beautiful, cafe is fantastic and the shop itself is really clean and lovely. But the toilets are the only real serious let down. I’ve noticed this for a long time too . Not just a one off. They really let down the place. They are very smelly. But not new smells from people using them. Old urine smell in the ladies and men’s too. And the disabled toilet has a dodgy lock on it. They have written instructions on how to make the lock work but there’s actually no way to know if it’s locked properly from the inside. I really love this place but I will hesitate to go there due to this reason which is a shame. I feel that from a sales point of view, it’s a missed opportunity. Why not demonstrate how effective the products you sell are by actually using them on your own facilities? And maybe put some nice smelling air freshener in there which is also sold at your store to inspire people? I really hope to see a change

    Got help finding contact cleaner from a kind assistant, walked straight in got help and straight out. Can't complain really. Found the car park entry kinda confusing but it was my first time so probably me just being a noob.

    This shop has everything and you could spend hours here. There are always a helpful staff member within about 3 rows. Our last purchase was a heater for a kids room and there was a whole row with lots of selection to pick from.

    Awesome customer service here, staff go out of their way to help customers. I went in recently needing advice on what kind of towel rack I needed for my very thin bathroom wall. I had no idea of where to start but two very helpful gentleman gave me the advice I needed to make an informed decision. Thank you for answering my questions and letting me know the information I needed to ensure I didnt damage my wall!

    Large store with a lot of stock. Happy to price match if competitors have a better price. Wi-Fi in store is fast and reliable. Columbus cafe is onsite. Plenty of parking but no EV chargers.

    Great service and easy to find what I needed. Growing up it used to be toy stores, but now it's hardware stores that I love spending time in, and this store you could get lost in - there is so much to see. They have what you need for any project and super helpful knowledgeable staff
