First visit and already greeted by a rude and defensive gray headed lady behind the counter with glasses on. Potentially could do with a far more suitable position elsewhere in the building. Regardless of that, the help we received when seen to was phenomenal. Very happy with the outcome.

Had a mental health crisis and couldn't hear the little communication box (marked mental health crisis) which I explained as I was also trying to keep an eye on the person having the crisis and I also suffer from a hearing problem which I also told them, to which I believe they asked me about the weather..... In the end got told to go to ane at the hospital as it was out of hours, why is our crisis mental health building not able to help if you don't have your break down in work hours. It was a big step for this person to ask for help in a time of desperation. And basically to be told to drive to the hospital. they walked away as soon as no one came to even check if they were ok! Way to make someone in a bad time feel 1000000 times worse. If they are the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff then it might as well be on fire. Wasn't expecting much from the system and shock it was exactly what I expected. Don't worry this untrained person will do what I can to try keep someone else from doing something they couldn't take back. Our hospital is on the news every night with how they don't have enough staff or rooms for patients and the answer to a mental health crisis was to show up at the ane with a bunch of sick and broken people. No wonder we have a high suicide rate. They feel unheard and unwanted and to turn them away is not the answer. I couldnt call a helpline for this person as I have a hearing problem and was also driving to try find someone to help.

Without going into years of details. The mental health crisis team here have been very dificult to get help from. I have been lied to, mislead and taken years to get the right action taken which has cost a lot of people undue stress and resulted in a person needing help beong in a far worse situation had they stepped in and acted appropriately at the first instance. Shame on the manager of that team, they are to blame for poor lesdership.

Completely lacking in professionalism and responsibility for their actions. I seriously cant believe some of the unacceptable things theyve done. They need funding but they also need better training. The staff have caused allot more harm than good. Be careful when dealing with them

I first came under the care of DrParaic and Cat after an acute mental health crisis. They met me having familiarised themselves with my current and past history which made a positive first impression. I felt like an actual person! More seriously, this professional approach was an important part in gaining my trust. Dr Paraic is an excellent clinician who proves valued support beyond medication. Cat, my social worker is a skilled listener, who really gets me on various levels. This may not sound like much but for me it is everything! …I don’t know how else to describe it. It’s a privilege to have her support me.
