Always enjoy visiting Buoy. Jolene does a beautiful job with my hair and all the staff are warm, professional and welcoming. It’s a treat to come into such a great atmosphere and to be looked after. Top class.

I had an appointment with Ryan at Buoy on Friday evening. He was doing my hair for my wedding (cut and colour) before I fly back to the UK next week. He’d not done my hair before but my previous hairdresser (who also works at buoy but is on maternity leave and is amazing) spoke so highly of him and I’d checked out his work on insta so I totally trusted him. I was so pleased when my hair was complete. Ryan had listened to what I wanted and gave me some great advice too. I would recommend Buoy to anyone, so good that they have spa services there too. You always receive amazing customer service from Eddie on reception and the place has such a great atmosphere. I’ll be back there in a few days to get my eyebrows done just before I fly! Thanks again Buoy!

Really love Buoy salon! The lovely team, the vibe and the culture. Hands down the best salon in wellington. Georgie is also amazing and a real professional who listens and brings your hair dreams to life & Hazel is the sweetest person upon arrival, really love my time there. Highly recommend Georgie and Buoy.

I can’t recommend Mel enough!!! I chose her after reading reviews that said she really listens, and it’s true! She understood exactly what I wanted, offered thoughtful advice, and was careful not to take off more than I asked for (a rare quality in a hairdresser). I have long, fine hair with soft layers that had started looking frayed when unstyled, so I needed a refresh. This time I asked for a blunt cut with some face framing while keeping the length, and she nailed it. Shout out to Tessa as well: she washed my hair with KΓ©rastase and gave a gentle massage (I’ve had rough experiences at other salons where my hair was tugged and pulled). The little extras are a nice touch too: they’ve got a full menu of drinks, from coffee to different teas. AND they offer a student discount, so I paid $129 to see a master level hairdresser!

Sarah who is the registered nurse who works in the spa is incredible! Such a lovely person, makes you feel so comfortable and her results are amazing.

I hardly write reviews but was very saddened by my experience at buoy. I spoke for a while with the colorist about dyeing my hair red and we spoke about different shades. I have dark hair but the colorist felt it would show up so I decided to go for it. The hairdresser that did my hair was in a bad mood when I saw her (didn't talk the whole time or even acknowledge me), rushed the process (didn't even check before washing it out) and my hair colour barely changed. At the end she said "I knew it wouldn't show up but didn't want to disappoint you," and then tried to point at places where she could apparently see red streaks even though it was obvious there was no colour. She was very rude and I paid full price for barely any change in my hair. I was recommended this place by friends so went in with high expectations so was really disappointed.

Always have great experience coming here - but had a haircut with Daniel yesterday and he was incredible! He gave me so much guidance on what to do with my hair and how to style it. Probably my best hair cut to date!

First time client here and wow! Really enjoyed my cut with Wei. He was super friendly, took time to understand what I really wanted from a cut, and made sure to keep me in the loop. Shout out to the lovely front of house team for being super welcoming too.
