   I contacted the practice as a new patient to confirm the cost for a check-up and clean and was quoted $120–$180 depending on the extent of cleaning. At my appointment, I received a full 360° head X-ray, bite-wing X-rays, and multiple photos. After seeking a second opinion, I learned that the necessity of the 360° X-ray was questionable, as it exposes patients to high levels of radiation and being a new patient alone is not typically a reason for this procedure. Following the check-up, I was advised that five teeth had cracks and that crowns ($1,700 each) would help prevent further damage. The message was also delivered very matter-of-factly as if I could make a decision on whether to go ahead with $8,500 worth of treatment on the spot. While I was told I could choose to do nothing, I felt the explanation lacked balance and alternative options. The final bill for the check up and clean was $388.80, which was significantly higher than the quoted range. When I raised this, the explanation focused on why the higher amount was justified rather than acknowledging the discrepancy. I also noticed some emphasis on cosmetic treatments during the consultation, which made the experience feel more sales-oriented than expected. After seeking second and third opinions, both confirmed that no immediate treatment was necessary as cracks in teeth are not uncommon, and as there weren’t any other symptoms, the advice I received was perhaps over cautious. Overall, I would have appreciated clearer communication upfront about costs, a more pragmatic discussion of treatment options, and transparency around the necessity of procedures.

   Margret Clark is an amazing dentist. I have suffered with severe dental anxiety and a phobia of needles my entire life. As a result I avoided the dentist for twenty years. My first appointment was different to any I had had before. Knowing I was anxious Kieran had soothing music playing and put me at ease with her kind words of encouragement the moment I arrived. When I got in the chair Dr Margaret was incredibly gentle and empathetic, while being very thorough. She communicated with me clearly throughout letting me know what she was doing. Afterwards I was presented with a comprehensive plan of what work I needed (extensive) and my options. They were all explained with pros and cons different prices and expected outcomes. At no point did I ever feel pressured or persuaded to go one way or another. Except for the fact I needed to take action after such a long time if I wanted to avoid toothaches and more invasive procedures. I opted for a plan including multiple crowns, restorations and a wisdom tooth extraction to top it off. When it came to getting the work done this practice was special as you have the whole place to yourself and crowns are made right there and then saving you extra appointments and more importantly more needles. Dr Clark put me at ease with her relaxed and caring chairside manner. Numbing gel was applied first and the needles were (no exaggeration) painless. Over the following 5 weeks I had all my work completed and overcame my fear of needles and dentistry in the process. Dentistry is not fun for anyone but Dr Clark with keiren assisting and the practices modern up to date equipment make having work done as quick and comfortable as it can be. After every appointment I was contacted to make sure I was feeling ok and if there were any problems another nice touch. I'm incredibly grateful to Dr Clark it has been a life changing experience for me. Needless to say I recommend Dr Clark at Novo smiles very highly. If your terrified of the dentist see Dr Clark and kieran they will get you through it. Incredibly thankful ,ill be back soon for my check up.

   Highly recommend, Margaret Clark is an amazing dentist, she’s professional, knowledgeable, friendly and provided excellent service. Mum got a Scale and Polish ($110) done and a Glass Ionmer Restoration ($210). We have booked to come back and will be changing to this dental clinic for all our dental needs moving forward.

   I want to share my positive experiences with Novo Smiles. I recently had a filling that needed fixing as it had been fixed a month before and had come loose. I was overwhelmingly surprised when I went to pay that there was no charge. I didn't expect that at all and I left with a smile on my face (although wonky from the injection)! I highly recommend their services - every time I've been I've had a positive experience. Margaret has always explained every step of the procedure before starting and I have complete trust in their workmanship. Bravo.

   After breaking a premolar, I rang Novo Smiles on a Friday, and got an appointment on Saturday, ( Novo smiles had taken over my previous dentists surgery practice ). The remains of my tooth was examined given a temporary filling, and then a crown was put in the week after. They did the crown in the surgery while I waited which is a huge bonus. I have already made an appointment with them for a check up. Fully recommend people in Wellington to give them a try. Thanks again to Margaret and staff.

   I recently visited Dr. Clark and I must say, it was an excellent experience. From the moment I entered the clinic, the staff was warm and welcoming, making me feel at ease. Dr. Clark's professionalism and expertise were immediately evident. She took the time to explain the procedure and answer my questions, which was very reassuring. During the treatment, Dr. Clark was very gentle and made sure that I was comfortable at all times.    Everyone I know feels at least a little tense as we arrive at our dentist surgery and indeed many feel unable to continue inside! Novo Smiles have this incredible and welcoming atmosphere with staff that I guarantee will put you at complete ease and this continues on with the Dentist too. professional, warm, friendly and welcoming. Indeed you’ll soon feel so relaxed and won’t believe it when your rising from the chair and saying good bye like you’re best buddies.
