Dentist did a root canal on me without my consent a few years ago and I'm still pissed off about it so I thought I needed to share. I went in with tooth pain and he recommended a root canal, I told him I couldn't afford it and to just pull the tooth out. He kept saying that I'm young so I want to be keeping my teeth. He said he'd clean out the hole and if it was still sore in a few days then we'd come up with a plan. I went back a few days later, told him it still hurt, he said okay, told me to open my mouth and just started doing a root canal. I had no idea what he was doing. He finished and told me he did the first half of a root canal and I had to pay $400. I was so upset, I left and burst into tears. I felt taken advantage of, especially since I had already told him previously that I COULDN'T AFFORD IT. I couldn't pay my rent that week. I ended up going to Symes de Silva to get it pulled out because I couldn't afford to finsh the root canal. Symes de Silva also sucks and I will be leaving a review on their page too.

Had a consult appointment with Dr. Clifford Lee due to having a panic about needing a root canal. Truly lovely guy, did some tests, advised about my situation which was not as bad as I thought, generic costs etc for future treatments (which were already raised with another dentist) and even educated me about how teeth work in terms of nerves, enamel, dentin and their relationship with decay etc. And why certain treatments are carried out. 10/10, highly recommended. Could've talked to him for ages as now I have a fascination with teeth.

I had an excellent experience with Jareth Lau at Burton & Brown Wellington Dental Care. Despite feeling quite anxious beforehand, Jareth’s calm and professional approach immediately put me at ease. The procedure was carried out with great care, and to my surprise, it was both painless and comfortable. His reassuring manner and attention to patient comfort are truly commendable. I would highly recommend Jareth to anyone seeking quality dental care in a supportive environment.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Clifford Lee today and was really impressed. He was very well presented, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly, addressing all my concerns. I felt very comfortable throughout the visit.

I saw Dr. Lee for my Invisalign treatment last year and going forward for general dental checkups - genuinely the nicest dentist I think I've ever had! I used to have huge dentist phobia but Clifford explains everything to you and makes sure you're comfortable/aware of what's happening, as well as keeps you as informed as possible. Cannot recommend enough. :)

Lumino Dentist seems to keep the bad fame around the country. In Auckland it is exactly the same as others described. My partner got a simple tooth filling and it got 39Β°C fever for three days. He doesn't suffer of anything. They also tell you to do so many unnecessary treatments.

Unbelievably awful. The treatment I received was of a poor quality and had to be done again, with all the accompanying injections and pain. Worst of all, I still can't bite food properly 2 years later. My friend also visited here to get a wisdom tooth removed and got an infection in her jaw. UPDATE - 5 years on and it fell off. The first one I had from a different dentist lasted for over 20 years. My current dentist can't believe how much of my tooth had been sanded away and said the nerve is almost exposed and I'm likely to need a root canal.

After my first hygiene session (which was around $250), I was asked to come back for a check up. Then I was given another session with the reason "The first hygienist didn't manage to remove everything" and got charged the same price again. Then they tried to book me for another session in the next 3 months. I asked why so early, normally people do this once every 6 months. The reception lady failed to answer my question and just moved the appointment to 6 months later. Dental service is already expensive enough so don't come here and spend more. Not to mention the process was more painful than my previous experience. Not recommended.

Fantastic service! Clifford was so kind, gentle and friendly and calmed my nerves straight away, he showed me the photos and xrays he took and answered all my questions. I wont go anywhere else for dental work in Wellington now. I was terrified and he was so good at calming me down and forming a treatment plan for me. Cant speak highly enough about my experience!
