As a 1st timer I was surprised and happy with my visit. The showers were warm and hot , the temperature of both the sauna and steam were just right that I can stay longer compared to other venues and the outdoor spa is fine with bubbles. I will definitely visit this pool again :-)

This pool is a full-on lane management disaster. Every time I go, they have three out of six lanes blocked for lesson groups, leaving just a βslowβ and βfastβ lane for the general public and members. Meanwhile the walkers, slow, medium and fast swimmers are all forced together into a chlorinated cesspit with zero flow or lane etiquette. Staff just stand there watching the chaos and do absolutely nothing to mediate the flow, redirect walkers, or manage lane etiquette. Itβs not like the issue is subtle β you can literally see the pile-up happening. If the intention is to prioritize private swim groups over paying public swimmers, at least be honest about it. Stop marketing it as a welcoming community pool when morning lap swimmers are clearly the lowest priority.

Great neighbourhood pool. We go 3 times a week for Aqua-fit or the gym. The pool is big and pretty clean. The pool staff are friendly and welcoming. Grateful to have this local resource! The only negative is that there is seriously not enough ventilation in the main pool area. They really need to crack open some windows and turn the fans on to get some MORE FRESH AIR! Please and thanks.

Used to be a good place to do lane unfortunately they started closing three lanes for swimming lessons. That effectively leaves only one lane for doing laps and the other slow lane was taken by a Chinese woman who is teaching 2 children and today there was 4 children at the end. Saying she was the childrenβs mother or aunty( I believe she is a private teacher getting paid for) making it no space for other children to swim. Which is very unfair. It's a real shame they are neglecting their regular swimmers like that. but can rarely use the pool for swimming when coming in the weekend.

Very awkward if youβre not a swimmer and just spectating. Not a lot of seating and lifeguards ask what youβre up too.. makes you feel a little bit awkward and unwanted. Maybe if youβre spending a day with friends or family and NOT swimming go to a pool (like Parnell) where there is seating and you can relax with your phone or a book and not feel like people think youβre a creep. Front reception staff super super nice tho, very friendly and had no issue letting me go in despite not swimming. I hope I donβt sound like a Karen

I go here at 4:30 pm on Sunday (not public holidays), but the pool closed without any updates. The website says they will close at 6:00pm. Who can explain this!? Waste of my time to be here.

Used to be a good place to do lane swimming, unfortunately since the beginning of 2023, they started closing three lanes for swimming lessons. That effectively leaves only one lane for doing laps (the other lane is a slow lane and is used by people that can hardly swim). It's a real shame they are neglecting their regular swimmers like that. We pay full price subscription but can rarely use the pool for swimming when coming after work.

Was quite apprehensive to try out the pool as reviews were so negative. Braced myself for the worst but actually staff at front desk were efficient and polite, the swimming pool was clean and certainly not cold as others have suggested. Same for changing rooms, clean and tidy. This is obviously a public space so does not compare to more luxurious and private versions, but was enjoyable enough that I will return there, hopefully frequently

I am writing this email to claim about your safeguard Ave at Takapuna centre. Today, my son had visited your Takapuna centre to swim. From the beginning, we did not receive any notice about the closing kids pool today. So, my son should have swim at Fun lane. (His is 120cm tall, and he knows how to keep his safety in this lane). Also him even wore a tube on his belly for safety and swam in that lane. All of sudden, one of your safeguard called Ave, came to us and start talking about the safety. He said my son looked not safe because he kept putting his head into the water. How come we can swim without putting head into the water? Can you explain this? Even there was another boy who kept trying to dive into the water and he didn't point out that thing. He looked more not safe than our boy. And he, Ave literally kicked us out. Ave, he did not give us any warning or instruction before he had done that to us. How come it is possible? We have been using this centre more than two years and my son also is taking a swimming class on Thursday . Recently, your swimming class also has been cancelled all of sudden just like before two hours ago for two weeks. That was horrible experience to us and your centre is making us disappointed. We are very disappointed to this happen and Ethan got upset as well. We want to get his apology .
